To think this is a perfectly acceptable way to spend our 23rd wedding anniversary

DH volunteers with a youth organisation. The adults in the coutry have a fairly formal annual bash. It falls on our wedding anniversary.

I know and like some of the people he volunteers with, it's an opportunity to dress up, have a few drinks, dance and generally have a decent time.

My friends seem to think I should be furious that he'd consider going rather than arrange something "special".

I have, on more than one occasion, spent my birthday at a posh event for DHs job - it's still a night out (although DH spends most of the evening chatting to other people).

As it's your 23rd anniversary I can't see a problem. Not sure I'd feel the same if it was 25th!

If youre both happy then what anyone else thinks doesnt matter.

It sounds really good actually!

Posh night out that you don't have to arrange. Company you know you'll like. Good chance of a shag either naughtily before, or on a promise for afterwards. What's not to like?

Sounds good to me - enjoy dressing up Smile

Sounds "special" enough to me...

Sounds like a good night! And like bigbluebus says, it's not your 25th or 30th.

Sounds fun. But quite frankly if you and your DH are happy - whose business is it?!

Congrats btw Flowers

I think that sounds lovely and not too much hassle. If you are both happy with that, sod everyone else!
