To wonder if I am allowed to post about matters to do with the police here?

Aibu to ask some advice about something regarding the police and a case I have pending? I have no idea if I am allowed to talk about it here. Does anyone know?

I know there are other sections of the site but this bit seems to have the most traffic, would I be breaking any kind of rule? I haven't been told not to talk about it but I'm scared to do or say anything that might hurt my case.

This is so bloody unfair on you. I hope you manage to sort it out.

No real advice other than reassurance that I've worked in the public sector checking people's details- contacting by phone sometimes, and by letter. It's entirely possible that a muddle up somewhere on a file or computer has meant that you and someone else's details are mixed up, or in rare cases identity theft has happened. I doubt it's anything more sinister than that and a grumpy untrained officer being rude to you- the last thing you need.

(one lady who was a lesbian was surprised to hear "she" had married three men, -over 15 years earlier she'd lost her passport, she got investigated for fake marriage but it wasn't her at all. A lady paid no national insurance for years as she wrote the number down wrong and a man with that number had all her contributions)

If you google ISVA and your local council they may have some information, they are a great resource for someone going through what you are, they also do pre and after case counselling. you might find something on www.rapecentre.org.uk

Sorry that might not cover all areas, I thought it was national. You may be able to get a referral through witness care/ police though. Flowers

Hey Shiny, just wondering how you were doing - hope that you managed to get everything sorted and that it was just an admin mix up that was easy to unpick... And that you're now able to have a weekend without any additional stresses Flowers

It sounds to me as if there is another person with your name, and the police and/or the other agencies have got their wires crossed.
