My three month old dd can laugh, but doesn't seem to find me very funny. How do you make your babies laugh?

My toddler is the only thing that makes my baby laugh! He also makes her cry a fair bit as well though.

Beth2511 · 27/05/2015 17:34

Pulling faces, singing, flying through the air.

Some babies just arent massive laughers

My ds is older and laughs all the time sometimes he laughs at my leg Hmm

However when he was that age making waves and wiggling my fingers in his face and saying boo at the same time often got a giggle (and still does)

Bouncing him on my knee and singing horsey horsey = the cutest laugh ever (and still does)

Making popping noise with my lips worked well too :)

BlacknWhitePanda · 27/05/2015 17:42

Ds likes being tickled on his bottom ribs, the sound of raspberries, saying yes while nodding your head towards him and when you throw him around.

Hes 5 months.

Now my LO is 7 months he'll laugh at anything but at 3 months they are still quite little so don't panic too much yet. Mine laughs the most at anything that makes him jump. He loves the fright (crazy child)

ifgrandmahadawilly · 27/05/2015 17:57

Animal noises (especially pig noises), raspberries, pressing her nose and saying boop. The cat.

dobbythedoggy · 27/05/2015 18:16

When dd was that sort of age she found dh jumping on the bed really funny. Dh does not routienly jump on the bed, but really struggled with our new fitted sheets (and the fact his mum always made his bed) found it easier to stand on the matress and bed it up to put the sheet of. Then disscovered it made dd laugh so made a real preformance of it. Until he fell off and hit head, which she found even funnier.

She loved being tickled in a certain spot under her chin.

Being held upside down on my legs.

The washing machien.

She didn't find just me too funny. But now at 2 1/2 I make her laugh very easily. Dh on the other hand gets fixed with a very serrious look and told 'don't be so silly daddy'. She'll only laugh for him if her teddy attacks him or he drops things and gets flustered.

CookPassBabtrigde · 27/05/2015 18:26

The curtains! Confused finds them hilarious for some reason, if you open or close them or especially if he gets to touch them!
Apart from that, peekaboo and tickles. But he didnt laugh very much til about 5 months, and even now the cat gets more laughs than I do Hmm and she doesn't do anything particularly!

RevoltingPeasant · 27/05/2015 18:34

DD is a delicate little fairy of a thing - 4 mos and just about 11lbs.

When she laughs she sounds like Beavis and Butthead. Huh. Huh-huh. Huh-huh-huh.

Things that have made her laugh this week include: being "heave-hoed" onto our bed; being told she is a giant; the face of some poor lady at postnatal pilates; some godawful Lamaze creation; a cardboard tube.

CoodleMoodle · 27/05/2015 18:38

I think around that age the thing that made my daughter laugh the most was gently blowing on her face! Especially her forehead, making her hair move. She still likes it now at 14m, but we do it harder now.

Another thing was hair. I used to lean over her and tickle her with my hair, and she liked when DH waggled his head and made his hair flop about. Still mildly amusing now.

Chatty987 · 27/05/2015 18:42

Silly facial expressions with the word boo and tickle of the cheek! Always a winner!

ahbollocks · 27/05/2015 18:48

Silly naked dancing from me [ blushhhhjj]

FindoGask · 27/05/2015 18:55

One of my favourite ever funny youtube videos is the dad slowly ripping pieces of paper to make his baby son laugh and laugh.

Allinson2014 · 27/05/2015 19:06

Tickling her legs made her laugh at that age. Now (11 months) looking down my top makes her laugh and gives me a complex

MrsMonkeyBear · 27/05/2015 19:28

Pretending to sneeze, growling Hmm ,playing peekaboo, being bounced up and down and blowing raspberries.

My dd is almost 7 months and wasn't much of a giggler until recently. Sometimes she just has to look at me and will be in stitches.

RumAppleGinger · 27/05/2015 19:30

I've never met a baby who didn't think my Joe Pesci impression was anything but pure comedy gold.

Mintyy · 27/05/2015 19:31

Yabu.

seaweed123 · 27/05/2015 19:33

The noise of sellotape ripping.

Me lying in a crunch position with him lying against my legs facing me, and pulling us both into a half situp where we met in the middle for a kiss. (Hard to explain)

At that age he found random things hilarious for a day, then looked at me like I was crazy when I did it the next day.

He has always found dh much funnier though.

ImpishElf · 27/05/2015 19:36

Being snuggled at the hip or under the rib cage (gently!) with my nose. Also animal noises in a story.

Optimist1 · 27/05/2015 20:03

Lifting her under her arms, facing me, till her tummy was level with my forehead then leaning forward to nuzzle my forehead on her tummy. Worked with her big bro when he was little, too.

Me telling off his older brother and sister seems to make my four month old DS laugh out loudly
