I would say that around 90% of people are either centre left or right.

I would say this is the biggest problem in politics today.

As I understand it Sweden , Norway and Denmark are kind of social democrats ... Using a combination of socialism with a free market economy.
Socialism per se hasn't worked... We've only to look at Eastern Europe before The Wall came down. Meld early mum and late Pa both endured life in Poland during that time and equality certainly didn't exist not even freedom of speech . Interesting to note how the world was suddenly awash with oligarchs after The Wall came down!!!

I certainly agree with more socialism when it comes to schooling, transport, ridding the nation of needing food banks and of ensuring the welfare state and NHS actually serve the nation properly so that no one is left out and that no one feels marginalised but we need a free market to encourage the economic growth needed to fund all this.

Not sure what you're after OP? Yes, most people in the UK are moderate. If you are a socialist then you are unlikely to have your party in power. That is democracy. Fortunately you are free to move to a country that is more to your liking.

YABVVVVU OP. Being moderate is not a bad thing. I would say being extreme is a bad thing..........

I agree but I don't think it's a problem.

I'm not sure that's the case. Most people I know are either considerably right or left of centre. But I do work in Investment Banking so maybe the people I come across are not representative.
