I am reading This Thread with much interest, wondering what I might regret not doing when I get to 50 when I'm in my 40's.

Now I am considering my future self looking back on now. I am on the fast train to my 30's and so far feel like I've wasted a hell of a lot of time not fulfilling all the dreams I have had over the years.

I don't want that in my 40's. I'd hate to think "Oh buggeryfuck, here I am 10 years on and nothing has changed". I wan't to look back on my 30's and think "what a brilliant decade, how can I improve upon it?"

Tell me what you would tell your 30 year old self at 40+. Inspire me to get off my arse, pull my finger out, replace it with a rocket, hike up my socks up and actually DO something before I wither away.

See the lyrics of 'Everybody's Free to wear suncream'.

Yes!! Grin

To myself, via time machine:

  1. Just fucking leave him. You can afford it, and he really doesn't deserve all the loving attention you waste on him.
  1. Buy your own place NOW. You have no idea how much this will improve your future life.
  1. When you're made redundant, you will be offered 2 jobs: one exciting and one less thrilling but more stable. Think carefully: they'll both work out okay, but maybe you could do with some stability.
  1. Find a therapist. Everyone will say you don't need it, but life will seem so much easier once you've got to grips with some issues. You'll end up starting it in 15 years' time anyway, and by then you'll have made a lot of painfully wrong choices. Therapy's the way forward!
  1. £150 a month on beauty treatments? Yes, Clarin's is very good, but honestly! Buy Nivea or Ulay instead, and put the £100 you save into a building society.
  1. Don't worry :) It'll be fun!
