Having to taxi family members around all the time

Do you think it's fair that as someone who has bothered to learn to drive and bought a car it should be my responsibility to taxi around family members that haven't? A classic one is that my mum keeps complaining that I was showing him where the promenade was by skating up and down it

On skates or a skate board though?

You refer to your mum as him?

Icimoi · 27/05/2015 17:47

Assuming that your main point is in your first sentence,YANBU. Perhaps you should suggest to them that, when you do give lifts, they should pay something towards your petrol and maintenance. And you should obviously make it clear that you can only give lifts if it is convenient for you, you are not on call for that purpose.

If you don't want to do something - say no.
If you are not willing to say no - you forfeit the right to complain
If you are unable to say no - you should access assertiveness training.

Are you Mrs Taxi Driver, or just Miss Unmarried Driver?

If the latter, I can see why that would be an issue.

She was skating on the prom and there was an unfortunate collision with a seagull.

She's gone to check her photos for dinosaurs

YANBU to object to being made to taxi family members around. At the very least, you should be getting petrol money from them.

YABVU not to come back and explain the second half of your OP.

I don't know if perhaps I need to get out more but I am crying with laughter at this thread and some of the replies!

Especially the one about the final comment being about lap dancing.
