To expect ONE window key to open ALL the windows?

We've just moved house, in the living room there is one big window made up of four smaller windows, two with just one lock and two with two locks. Of these locks, five open with the same key but one doesn't. To make it worse, it is one of the ones with two locks on it.

AIBU to expect to be able to open them all with the same key? Isn't that standard? I've tried WD40 in the lock, but it isn't budging.

It should open, shouldn't it? Or AIBU and this is quite normal? No one else seems to think it's strange or stupidly made to need two different keys.

When we moved there were no keys for the windows. One of the top (small) ones in the bedroom was locked and the room gets unbearably hot and stuffy in summer.

Have looked online and found a company that supplies window keys and explains how to find out which ones you need. So, finally have a key that fits the top right hand windows in each room.

However, we do not have a key that fits the top left hand windows, or either of the lower, large windows. No, for those we need to hold a mirror behind the handles and take a photo to get the ID no. for each type and then order another 3 keys. Or maybe more because there are newer windows on the top floor extension.

Local shop/locksmith and local window company do not sell them.

Ebay usually have window keys.

We have four different keys for the windows and a one key that works all window locks.

its a window lock, unfold a paper clip and that will unlock most of the normal simple locks on windows, they only have 1 pin to push down, job done
