So noisy.

Pick up the bowl, clunk the spoon on the bowl, clunck the spoon on their teeth then smash the bowl back down on the desk. Repeat for an hour gradually making more noise.

Arrrg!

Aibu to suggest they use plastic or just eat at home?

I still recoil when someone reminds me of when the man beside me went on a 'fruit kick'. I had no idea a banana could create such noise being munched.Angry Angry also there is a new lad in another department who uses most of our milk for what can only be discribed as a troff of porridge each morning. I don't use milk in my coffee and it annoys me.

RuggerHug · 20/05/2015 19:22

I should add fruit man is only in the office max 2 days a week. It still drove me demented

MagentaVitus · 20/05/2015 19:22

My office has a caterer who brings our breakfast order to our desks every morning. You'd hate us!

Thegentlemonkey · 20/05/2015 19:28

I wish we had the luxury of a staff room! Public sector here, & it's eat at your desk or nothing in our office. But OP YANBU re disgusting metal spoon biting noises, makes me wince just thinking about it.

MitzyLeFrouf · 20/05/2015 19:33

No staffroom here either.

Jackie0 · 20/05/2015 19:40

I'm not trying to be argumentive but aren't all employees entitled to a break, a real break away from the desk/shop floor/office whatever.
I've worked in a wide range of places, both public and private sector and my break and lunch times were my time to do as I wished.

PeachyPants · 20/05/2015 19:44

Don't bother so much about the noisy eaters but I loathe the fish and egg scoffers who stink out the office.

MitzyLeFrouf · 20/05/2015 20:06

But you don't need a staff room to have a break. We don't have set breaks and lunch hours, we can get up and wander as we please.

ilovesooty · 20/05/2015 20:13

Our staff room seats 4 and we have at least 40 people on our floor.

NoAprilFool · 20/05/2015 20:30

Plenty of workplaces don't have a staff room or canteen.

I have breakfast at my desk. Lunch too. But then most of my colleagues have at least one meal at their desk.

agentEgypt · 21/05/2015 12:06

Staff room? I wish we had one of those. There is a breakfast bar in the kitchenette that maybe 3 people out of 50 could use.
