Mil is constantly going on about other people that are coming over here and living on benefits. She's the typical daily mail reading ukip supporter.

She's welcome to her stupid views, however she's never worked, fair enough was from a generation where women didn't. But for over 15 years she's been on a full station pension, had all her rent paid for and most not her council tax paid. Her mum lived until 96 and she keeps saying she'll be come a centurian. That would mean 40 years on benefits - probably well over 500'000k and she's never worked but keeps going on about other people being benefits scroungers!

My retired NDN is exactly the same as in we've worked hard all our lives etc etc
Husband had his own small business mainly cash in hand and used to boast about all the tax dodges his accountant sorted so he didn't often pay any tax at all
Wife worked part time but used to tailor her hours so she stayed under tax and NI threshold - used to moan like mad if she ever was forced into earning extra money eg bank holiday meant she was paid double time which pushed her over limits
So yes they did work - hard I have no idea, but certainly tried not to pay into system which now supports them very comfortably
Pension, attendance allowance, free bus pass, winter fuel etc etc

My mum knows a couple of people on benefits who are ill or disabled and she claims that they are rich as they receive massive amounts of benefits. Absolute bollocks.

whitches

I am 50 and have run my own business for the last 10 years while bringing up 4 children.

How on earth am I insulting working mothers by finding the ops comments on her sahmil doing nothing

Don't be so ridiculous.

This sahm v working mother is so so old fashioned now. Move on.

Still your post did make me Smile whitchesas I am receiving texts from my stressed dd doing GCSEs and trying to work out my invoices while starting at my pile of ironing. Must get off mumsnet and get into the real world.

Suggest you do too. Grin
