To not do cakes for cake sale (trigger)

Yesterday I suffered a miscarriage at 11.5 weeks. Tomorrow is my child's school cake sale.

I am just about keeping it together, cooking dinner, school run etc. But I can't face baking cakes or going to supermarket.

I am letting my child down or am I putting too much pressure on myself

I'm sorry to hear your devastating news Sad

Don't even think about cakes. Just get yourself a little better, however you manage it. Some sit and watch box sets. I painted my whole kitchen! Flowers

Brew let D buy some as a treat. It's completely no problem to skip it. Not everyone does them.
I'm sorry for the losses of your babies Flowers

Good god woman, cut yourself a bit of slack here! Who cares about a silly cake sale. You've just suffered a loss.
So very sorry about that. Sit down with a duvet and a cup of tea and look after yourself. Nothing else matters. Seriously.

Thanks

Of course it's OK not to make anything. If anyone asks (and they won't, as there will be a million other parents who haven't baked) then just say you've been poorly, if you don't want to go into details.

Send your DCs to school with a quid each in their pockets: every bake sale needs buyers and cake-eaters as well as bakers!
