To be totally pissed off at not knowing how to solve our 'three car seats in the back seat' dilemma?

Can someone please help???!!!

My DH has an older BMW. Is it possible to get three car seats, (for a two year old, soon to be one year old and newborn) in a row in the back seat WITHOUT having to buy that crazy expensive multimac thing?

We have a few weeks before I am due to come up with a solution but we really are running out of time, and don't want to have to spent a heap of money on solving the problem.

Zafira manuals say that the middle seat of the middle row is not safe for child seats.
This appears to be a little known fact.

I didn't know that! Thank you.

I think we will put my 4 year old in the boot seat on her high back booster, then two younger ones in the middle. I am worried about the crumple zone thing but there would still be some boot space behind that seat, more so than in other cars. When driving I often look at smaller compact cars and it seems their back row has as much boot behind them as the boot seats in the zafira if that makes sense.

I figured everyone in the right seats (though one in the boot seat) is safer than trying to squeeze them all in the middle, especially if that's a no go for the zafira in any case.

What Rumandcoke said. For a while, when all of us were in the car (2004 Audi) we would put a child in the front seat and one of us would squeeze ourselves unceremoniously in the middle. We never did any long journeys like that, but it wasn't long before DC1 could then sit in the middle with a seatbelt adjuster instead of a booster. Mind you, my eldest was nearly 4 when DC3 was born so a bit older than your eldest OP by the looks of it. Good luck!
