A Facebook friend of mine is very politically minded. They have now invited any of their Tory leaning friends to PM them for some sort of private exorcism to convert them to the light. AIBU to think this is arrogant and dismissive? The implication from the post is that if you have different political opinions, you are a) less intelligent or b) less well informed.

I thought people were entitled to opinions!
NB this person is a teacher by trade, which is another reason I disagree with the voting age being reduced to 16. What an opportunity to increase your voting power!!

It's not only labour voters my sister text her new boyfriend (who I've not yet met) to tell him I was voting labour, his response was to say I'll be there within the hour - like it was an emergency and she'd put the Tory signal on (like the bat signal but I'm assuming involving a giant cock Hmm)
The Bil that was there gave me a ten minute lecture on why I should be voting UKIP.
I can see why they would vote in that direction but their life is not mine I don't agree and no amount of lecturing will fix that - if anything it's guaranteed to make me more stubborn.

Very much in favour of never discussing politics or religion- if you want to keep your friends! IME even if you have similar views, there will always be something you disagree over that you both won't be able to see them in the same way after discussing

Dressed up - Our glorious parliament functions on a model of 'adversarial politic'. It's all about the shouting (and bizarre 'bahhh' type noises) so is bound to filter down a bit.

This election seems to be demonstrating very little confidence in party policy. Many will be voting for the 'least shit option'.

I've found the most dogmatic to not be Labour but those who have deeply held concerns about "Romanians" and "Muslamics".

I don't see the problem. Your friends has invited people to contact her if the want to talk over their views with her. She hasn't forced them to do so, she hasn't ridiculed them in public. Maybe if they do contact her, she will engage them in dicussion rather than lecture them.

I don't see any bullying in her invitation at all. If you aren't interested in discussing with her, then don't message her.
