Ex Lib-Dem voter and I will probably be voting Green even though they haven't a hope in hell of getting in where I live. There are no parties that represent me 100% and I feel like the Greens are offering a lot of fresh polices (as well as quite a few crazy ones) but I am ready for change.

labour for me as they tie in with most things that i find myself agreeing with. The seat here is a safe tory seat but i do not have much faith in this candidate having spoke to her before.
partner still undecided

MyraForum · 06/05/2015 21:43

Green locally.

Would be green nationally, but it would be a wasted vote. Polls are putting my constituency at too close to call between conservative and labour, so will be voting labour

MargoReadbetter · 06/05/2015 21:43

FOOD BANKS. FFS.

Timeandtune · 06/05/2015 21:45

For the first time ever I am voting tactically- Lib Dem to keep the SNP out. Otherwise I would be voting Labour.

Needmorespace
Why not? Years ago when my mum had four of us on her own with barely any money coming in it would have been a godsend, the need has always been there , we were dirt poor growing up, I had to wear my brothers hand me down school shoes because my mum simply didn't have the money for new ones, nothing has changed there will always be circumstances where people need help and why shouldn't local people support their communities, it's really snobby to look down on food banks and say people shouldnt need them because there has always been a need it's not a new thing, I really think they do a fantastic job and fill the gap when people need it

Labour. Tempted by Plaid, but think the need to get rid of the Tories is the most important thing tomorrow.

SteamTrainsRealAleandOpenFires · 06/05/2015 21:53

Those spoiling your vote, can you please do it with some well deserved expletive or something, not just a scribble or smudge.

Something like:- "Fuck off you self-serving war mongering, money grabbing, eu arse licking bastards who also hump dead donkeys, while in the back pocket of multi-corporations"?

Does that sound deserved? WinkGrin

blowinahoolie · 06/05/2015 21:54

Rather than accepting that people are poor and have to rely on food banks, why not choose to do something to help improve their situation in this modern day and age Mrsbird so they they no longer need to rely on food banks? Surely this would make the most sense?

MargoReadbetter · 06/05/2015 21:55

Steam :)

Is anyone watching the Charlie Brooker thing on TV just now?

pilates · 06/05/2015 21:56

Conservative
I can't forget the mess Labour left us with last time.

UnoPan · 06/05/2015 21:56

Charity worked well in the 19th century. Which is pretty much where the Tory Party wish to take the majority of the population to. Drive down wages (which they have), and reduce public utility access (which they have and will further), so that the wealth of the nation is enjoyed by an increasingly smaller section of the populace. This is not hard to witness and understand, is it?

blowinahoolie · 06/05/2015 21:58

UnoPan that is so scarily accurate it has given me a shiver down my spine Sad You have summed the Tories up well and I fear it's only going to get worse if they're voted in again on Friday. Jeezo.

smudger4 · 06/05/2015 21:59

Yep Margo. And Blowin our old pal from last weeks thread is here talking more bollocs AKA Erudite, yawn.

UnoPan · 06/05/2015 22:00

Sorry about that blow. We wake up on Friday to a Tory govt and that's what we get.

DementedSwan · 06/05/2015 22:02

I accept that food banks help people but... Why are so many people relying on them now?

I understand that money needs to be saved, more people need to be in employment etc and under the coalition there has been a rise in employment but on zero hours contracts. What use is that? No wonder the vast majority of the workforce are relying on top up benefits.

And the bedroom tax? Where are the properties available for people to downsize too?

Disabled? Tough luck, get on with it

Nice!

Mrsbird311 · 06/05/2015 22:03

Obviously it would be great if nobody needed food banks but what I'm trying to say is that there will always be a need and always has been its only now that people have food banks as the idea came over from the states I believe and its there to bridge a gap as a short term measure till someone gets back on their feet, also they don't just provide food , many arrange cookery lessons, advice or sometimes just a cup of tea and a chat, they are an essential part of the community and I don't believe it's an issue that should be politicised we should be proud that we live in a country full of such caring volunteers and generous communities that donate

Fannyannieanne · 06/05/2015 22:04

Whatever happens now will happen.

We can only use our vote and hope that - whatever the outcome - good will come of it.

I feel scared I have to admit. I'm genuinely afraid of a Labour govt but I also appreciate others feel the same about a Tory one.

moggiek · 06/05/2015 22:05

SNP

stillenacht1 · 06/05/2015 22:05

Labour

Eversobusyeveryday · 06/05/2015 22:05

Labour. Mainly because I feel so passionately against the impact of the welfare reforms on the most vulnerable in society and the 'working poor' who are so much worse off under the conservatives and also because I have found out that my local conservative MP has voted against gay marriage and equal rights for same sex couples. The Labour candidate is our former MP and a has been excellent both as an MP and working for the local community on a voluntary basis since then.

blowinahoolie · 06/05/2015 22:06

Sorry Mrsbird I'm struggling to share your views on foodbanks here...Confused

Trying to reduce the amount of people needing to rely on food banks, or working out why people are now reliant on them would surely be a better solution?

Maybe if people were paid a living wage this wouldn't be an issue.

Doje · 06/05/2015 22:07

Labour.

DH is undecided still. Green, Lib Dem, Labour at a push.

Stickledpink · 06/05/2015 22:08

I think the Labour supporters on here have very selective memories regarding NHS and caring for the vulnerable and those in need.

What about West Staffs hospital ? 1400 deaths under Labours watch

Rotherham Council?

The labour run Welsh NHS that is in an atrocious state ?

Someone up thread mentioned this but it really makes my blood boil when this party claim to be the saviours.

I will pray that they don't get in again .... Where they are already projected to be spending a further 90 billion by 2020 according to the IFS, should they succeed.

My children and Grandchildren will be left to pay the price of their failings but they couldn't give a stuff.

Labour are just full of hate. Thank goodness there are millions of us who can see straight through their lies.

UnoPan · 06/05/2015 22:08

mrsb - food banks - they are not a short term measure though. Your belief is disconcerting. Food banks are massively political - evidence of a Tory Party with an agenda to keep people generating an income for others but to rely on charity for their own well-being.
