Ex Lib-Dem voter and I will probably be voting Green even though they haven't a hope in hell of getting in where I live. There are no parties that represent me 100% and I feel like the Greens are offering a lot of fresh polices (as well as quite a few crazy ones) but I am ready for change.

Labour in a labour stronghold.

And those who mention Greece - the UK does actually have a greater debt that Greece. Some people believe everything they are fed.

I feel nervous about tomorrow and hope to god the Tories don't get in.

TheEmpressofBlandings · 06/05/2015 19:55

Icimoi, that's fascinating reading, thanks.

BMW6 · 06/05/2015 19:58

I feel nervous too - am praying till my lips are chapped that Labour don't get in.....

Mrsbird311 · 06/05/2015 19:59

Grovel that is dispicable Hmm

YouTheCat · 06/05/2015 20:07

I judge governments on how they treat the most vulnerable in our society.

As far as I can see the Tories have contributed to many deaths through their illegal benefit sanctions (and they are illegal). They are systematically diminishing disabled people's rights in this country. They are demonising the working poor and cutting working tax credits.

Why would you vote for that?

sanityisamyth · 06/05/2015 20:08

Conservative

OnlyLovers · 06/05/2015 20:11

Cat, me too. I also believe very much in the principle of 'from each, to each', which I guess makes me an old Trot.

Oh well. Grin

Fannyannieanne · 06/05/2015 20:11

Youthecat , they have also done a great many good things like improving the economy and lowering unemployment. I vote on the whole picture. Same as I like some stuff Labour did but could ask you why anyone would vote for a party that fought an illegal war killing thousands?

I won't because I know most of us view the big picture to find a best fit.

TidyDancer · 06/05/2015 20:13

Icimoi - I sent that to some friends earlier. Very good piece.

Family of Labour voters here. Genuinely terrified of another five years of the Tory shitbags. Would be awful.

smudger4 · 06/05/2015 20:14

I'm with you Cat. Tories are utterly evil imho

YouTheCat · 06/05/2015 20:15

Unemployment isn't lower. A zero hours contract needing benefits to top it up does not really count. The economy has had a much slower recovery than it should have and still has a very long way to go - double dip anyone? Hmm

Cameron wanted parliament to vote for us to go to war against Syria in 2013 (teaming up with ISIS) but it was voted against (first time in over 100 years a war vote has not gone in favour of the government). He is just as much of a warmonger if that is your argument.

ElizabethG81 · 06/05/2015 20:15

Labour

It seems to have been forgotten by many, but if it were up to David Cameron we'd be embroiled in a messy war with Syria right now. I gained a lot of respect for Miliband after he went against Cameron on this.

Mia1415 · 06/05/2015 20:16

Conservative

peggyundercrackers · 06/05/2015 20:16

Youthecat look at what labour done to the NHS- they crippled it with PFI. Look at how labour are managing NHS Wales - shockingly is the word that comes to mind... But hey never mind the facts.

fredfredsausagehead1 · 06/05/2015 20:19

Some people believe everything they are fed...LOL

YouTheCat · 06/05/2015 20:19

My Gran would have been 114 tomorrow, if she was still alive. She campaigned for our right to vote. So I'll be using mine wisely and not voting for people who have undersold our royal mail and who are selling off our NHS and who have stolen our school land from the local councils and given it to their mates.

peggyundercrackers · 06/05/2015 20:20

Youthecat if zero hours contracts are so bad why are labour using them to employee people? Why is some of their staff paid less than the min. wage?

Fannyannieanne · 06/05/2015 20:21

Tories are utterly evil imho

haven't seen any name calling of Labour by Tories. Can't we just debate decently and without recourse to this? Honestly, I'm learning so much from this thread - I love reading peoples' views a sthat's how we learn and question our own but that kind of comment is so destructive and sirespectful and simply untrue. Most of the votng population are hardly, " evil".

peggyundercrackers · 06/05/2015 20:22

Labour sold more of the NHS than the conservatives have ever done - that's an absolutely fact - they brought in £400billion worth of private investment... Once torys came in privatisation slowed down.

Fannyannieanne · 06/05/2015 20:23

So I'll be using mine wisely and not voting for people who have undersold our royal mail and who are selling off our NHS and who have stolen our school land from the local councils and given it to their mates.

So you'll be using it wisely to vote for a party led by a man who avoided IHT and who pays some of his staff below min wage on zero hours?

Who did your council sell the land to? Is your local council Tory?

Andcake · 06/05/2015 20:24

Labour - have done a few online tools about policy etc and happy with choice.
Basic principal for me is 'anything but tory' however probably that includes ukip

Fannyannieanne · 06/05/2015 20:25

Very true Peggy.

Also NHS Wales under Labour is an utter shambles compared with NHS England/Scotland/NI.

GingerCuddleMonster · 06/05/2015 20:27

Labour are shockingly bad with the NHS, Labour wants to borrow more Hmm Confused Labour for me is a dosater for the economy and recovery.

MargoReadbetter · 06/05/2015 20:32

Labour. I work in the NHS. When you're old and frail no amount of private top-ups will help and you will rely on the state. Or bankrupt your children.

frankie80 · 06/05/2015 20:33

grovel, I had a friend who said she was voting SNP because she didn't want a jewish PM
