Check up on their voting record here by putting in your postcode

www.theyworkforyou.com

So easy to get bored by the rhetoric politicians give, this site gives a very easy run down on how they actually vote.

If you're thinking about reelecting someone, just double check their actions.

My local MP is a right arsehole by all accounts!

Our MP has an OK track record. OH wrote to her once and even got a reply from her. As we don't have a Green Party candidate I will be voting for her. If the MP in the next constituency was our MP I would definitely vote for him as he is very active and does what he says he is going to do

BestIsWest · 03/05/2015 16:59

Mine has a great voting record. He's not afraid to go with his conscience and vote against his party. He's standing down at this election though.

MaryBerrysLostCherry · 03/05/2015 19:30

I will be represented by the DUP. The fucking DUP - look them up under fascist. I don't share a single ideal with them. I believe on democracy. People died so I could vote, but it's pointless doing it. I could weep with frustration.

Tanith · 06/05/2015 14:06

Wow! I thought nothing could threaten Jeremy Hunt's safe seat here in Deepest Leafiest Safe-Conservative-For-Ever Surrey.

When the LibDem was suspended, I thought it was in the bag for our Jeremy.

Only now, I hear a doctor is going up against him in a Save the NHS battle.

It's getting really exciting down here, you know Grin

Morelikeguidelines · 06/05/2015 14:22

Mine just seems to vote with his party.

Morelikeguidelines · 06/05/2015 14:23

Oh tanith I so hope the doctor wins! Jeremy Hunt is a hunt of the highest priority.

Morelikeguidelines · 06/05/2015 14:28

Highest order I mean!

hellsbellsmelons · 06/05/2015 14:39

Although I am a Tory voter and so my MP is conservative I'm quite proud that he quite often rebelled against their party in this parliament

AugustRose · 06/05/2015 14:40

We did this a few weeks ago. Our MP is a typical Eton educated Tory Twat who has voted with the party on everything. He isn't from here and was brought in specifically because he is a Tory Twat who will vote the way they want.

Can you tell I won't be voting for him!

Tanith · 06/05/2015 17:18

It's true! It is! Shock

Louise Irvine of the National Health Action Party.

And she's not their only candidate!

Naoko · 06/05/2015 17:25

My MP is excellent. I hope he keeps his seat.

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 06/05/2015 17:38

My current encumbent is a twat who voted "moderately against laws to promote equality and human rights".

He actually voted to repeal the Human Rights Act 1998. WTF.

NotCitrus · 06/05/2015 17:44

Mine scraped in in a very close election last time round, having worked very hard to chat to practically every person in the constituency (as did the main competitor - I'd get to chat to one or other while waiting for my train at least one morning a week for over a year).

Has continued to work very hard locally and knows the local area really well. The voting record is pretty much what I expected. Pretty sure will get a large majority this time round.

TheGirlFromIpanema · 06/05/2015 17:52

Mine is a sure thing for the current female labour candidate.

Saw her round here A LOT in 2010 but not a thing this time now she has an actual job in the shadow/poss future cabinet Hmm

Have still voted for her though Grin

CrabbyTheCrabster · 06/05/2015 17:57

She's getting our votes, Tanith. Wink I hope she'll mop up plenty of the LibDem votes too (though the disgraced guy is still standing as an independent, I believe).

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 06/05/2015 17:59

I've not seen a single canvasser this time around. We were visited by everyone last time.

Madeyemoodysmum · 06/05/2015 18:00

I'm in a tTory safe seat and I was going to votetTory until I read what he has voted on. I'm now considering liberal. I was on the fence any way!

MsRinky · 06/05/2015 18:08

My MP is a delight. Quite apart from his woeful voting record, I reserve the right to make a judgement on his personal character.

Only ever worked in Daddy's business, although to be fair, has played soldiers for a bit in the TA. Left his wife and (recently adopted) child when caught out in an affair with a NOTW "journalist". Has never acknowledged the child again. Knocked up the "journalist", then ditched her when that child was 4 months old. Ah, Tory family values, can't beat them. Now remarried to a fellow MP, who also seems delightful...

CaptainAnkles · 06/05/2015 18:09

My MP is a total tool. I already thought as much but that's confirmed it.

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 06/05/2015 18:15

Oh and mine cares so much about health policy and the NHS that he either voted rabidly for privatisation or just didn't bother to turn up to vote at all.

beatricequimby · 06/05/2015 18:23

Mine is a Government Minister. A supposed liberal whose liberal values deserted her in office. Am tactically voting SNP to try to get rid of her.

Sunnymeg · 06/05/2015 18:23

I am in a safe Tory seat. Our MP is disliked by many within the constituency, including the conservative leader of one of the local district councils. He is on record as saying that he would rather have another party win the seat than have another five years of ineffectiveness from our current representative.

But barring a major upset, he will be returned although hopefully with a much decreased majority! If by some miracle, he is unseated he will be all over the news on Friday.

GloGirl · 06/05/2015 18:27

Shock MsRinky who is that?

OP posts:
SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 06/05/2015 18:44

Gah, spotted my error. INCUMBENT not encumbent. Twazzcock.

Ironically, the local guy who voted strongly against equality and diversity is married to a senior member of a left wing equality charity. The mind boggles. Is he a career politician voting with party against his own beliefs or is he married to someone with diametrically opposing views and if so, how the fuck does that work? And I say that as a left of centre married to a right of centre voter.
