I'm in the middle of decorating my DD's bedroom.
She used to have one of those high sleeper beds, but she hates it and I'm pissed off with changing it, so I ordered her a new bed, a chest of drawers, bedside cabinet and some twiddly bits (fairy lights, mirror, lamps, etc) from Amazon.
I ordered the stuff Saturday afternoon and as I'm clicking on items (all on Prime) I get a message "order in x hours and x minutes for delivery on 27th April".
I order, and as I go through the checkout I notice the delivery has now changed to the 28th. Not a problem, I wanted to do all the painting first anyway, and given it was Saturday when I was ordering didn't really expect it on Monday in the first place.
I check Amazon on Tuesday to see if there's any tracking information as to when the stuff would be delivered and find it is all still "preparing for despatch". Not impressed, but not a big deal, given that the items were on next day delivery, I assumed I'd get them Wednesday and I hadn't quite finished painting anyway
It's now Thursday and most of it is still showing as preparing for despatch. I've finished painting, DD is camping out in her sister's bedroom and I can't do anything until the bloody furniture arrives.
I've spoken to Amazon this morning and it will be dispatched tomorrow and I should get it Tuesday (I won't get it Saturday as Prime doesn't cover Saturday deliveries, and Monday is a Bank Holiday).
I pointed out that as a Prime customer I'm paying for a next day delivery service, but was told "well, it depends on despatch doesn't it? This will count as next day delivery due to the weekend and bank holiday"
AIBU to think they should refund some of my Prime subscription, extend it a bit, or despatch it today and swallow any extra charges to ensure it arrives tomorrow.
It fucks me off that they do that "order within x hours, x minutes for x date delivery" thing which always seems to have changed after you've gone through the check out, but this is beyond a joke and on what planet can 10 days from order to delivery be considered "next day"?
