To think The Sun front page is really quite sinister?

Sun have done their usual pre-election front page, this time headlined "It's a Tory!", with a picture of a newborn being cuddled in blankets. Newborn's head is david cameron's. It's hideous.

Aside from that, does anyone else find it really quite sinister in terms of not-so-subtle meaning?

IMHO, newspapers should not be allowed to have a clear political bias. I do believe that a proportion of Sun readers (and Daily Mail readers) will be voting Conservative due to the "facts" they have read in their daily paper. Influencing votes in this way should not be permitted.

Newspapers should contain just that IMHO - "news". That is, facts, things that have actually happened in the world. Not rumours & personal opinions (Murdochs).

FWIW, I'm not saying that Sun readers are accepting Murdochs' crap because they are thick. Not at all. But because they believe what they are reading day in, day out, in their "news"paper to be factually based.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 30/04/2015 14:44

the whole of the Sun is creepy.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 30/04/2015 14:48

Oh, and the front cover is both weird and disrespectful to William, Kate & George.

Not because they are royalty but both because they are telling the public that Kate & William would vote Tory if they could (maybe they would, maybe they wouldn't but no-one should make that assumption on their behalf) and because it's just plain horrible to Dr a photo of your baby like that!

What will it be tomorrow? An image of someone such as Hitler, Jimmy Saville, Gary Glitter etc. with Miliband's face? Utterly distasteful, the whole lot of it.

blue42 · 30/04/2015 14:51

I wouldn't have realised in a thousand years that the photo was William, Kate & George, before putting cameron's ugly mug on it. Agreed, that just makes it more weird to me.

I don't think its any worse than any of the other papers tbh.
At least the journos of the sun don't take it all too seriously.
There's no such thing as unbiased journalism either from newspapers or tv, that goes for the BBC, the worst of the lot.
So considering you can't believe a word they say, none are impartial there's not much point in buying, reading or watching anyway.

gingercat12 · 30/04/2015 15:28

Not worse than yesterdays IMHO: CAM'S MY MAN SAYS WHITE VAN MAN or something like that. Bit patronising. It makes me wonder what they think about their readers...

PomeralLights · 30/04/2015 15:29

I cannot believe they've done that to a picture of somebody's baby. Doesn't matter who the baby/couple is its disgusting to do that without permission.

I thought a fair proportion of Sun readers were royalist- they tend to have quite a bit of royal coverage. Don't they care that those readers will find this disgraceful?

yellowdaisies · 30/04/2015 15:33

Do you think poor Kate's going to be having nightmares about the new baby coming out with David Cameron's head on it? Grin

ollieplimsoles · 30/04/2015 15:39

Twart I instantly thought of that sketch when I opened this thread! Such a classic I love it.
The cover is stupid, makes little sense as a pun, and they have defiled someone's baby photo! D:

funnyperson · 30/04/2015 17:12

very creepy. I feel sorry for Will and Kate. Do Royals vote?
I've always wondered if David Cameron followed Sam's beauty regime and thats how he gets his shiny face.

ForkHandlesFourCandles · 30/04/2015 17:33

The Scottish Sun front page is the funniest thing Ive seen in a long time. ha ha ha.

DoraGora · 30/04/2015 17:35

Royals don't vote. They just write to government ministers giving them instructions. But then again, the royals did invent ministers, so it's maybe not that improper.

WhiteConverseSkinnyJeans · 30/04/2015 17:36

its horrible

honestly really creeped me out when I saw it

Izzabelly · 30/04/2015 17:54

It made me laugh - but I'm not voting Tory!

yellowdaisies · 30/04/2015 17:54

I think royals can vote, apart from the queen. Though not sure whether they do or not.

Cassimin · 30/04/2015 18:08

Horrible paper
Horrible man
Don't buy the scum!

funnyperson · 01/05/2015 01:08

I realise this is a bit of a sandwich but I looked it up just now and apparently the Queen can't vote but dukes (and presumably their wives) can vote but don't because it 'would compromise their neutrality'
www.royal.gov.uk/MonarchUK/QueenandGovernment/Queenandvoting.aspx
I think dukes and duchesses and other royals should exercise their right to vote. After all their vote would be a secret. They shouldn't be disenfranchised or distanced from the debate.

MerryMarigold · 01/05/2015 09:13

I think they should have DC superimposed on Buzz Lightyear, or Woody and the headline could have been 'Toy Tory'!

TwiceAsNiceAsIceAndaSlice · 01/05/2015 12:10

Oh well, looks like the election has been postponed anyway

Grin
blue42 · 01/05/2015 12:17

Lol!

I am glad The Sun is backing the conservatives

it made me feel shame as a labour supporter when we had their support

Inkanta · 01/05/2015 12:23

MPs seem to age quite prematurely. I think Cameron is already, and he's only 48. He looked quite fresh faced 4 years ago. They must get tired.

Yes I didn't understand that front page yesterday. Just looked weird and warped Sun mentality.

Summertime1 · 01/05/2015 19:10

Looks very cute and cuddly to me as do all babies lol

MerryMarigold · 01/05/2015 19:41

Maybe it's like the Brad Pitt film where as he ages, he gets younger.
