There's no law against it

Why do so many people think this automatically makes it alright to do something? Can they not use common sense and realise that, regardless of laws or rules or regulations, sometimes it's just inconsiderate to the people around you to do something eg allow your kids to run around making noise, light up a cigarette, play loud music in a shared space.

AIBU to think it's no wonder that there has to be so many legislation passed (leading to claims of a nanny state) because increasing numbers of citizens seem to have lost the ability to make a judgment call themselves and rely totally on 'the law' or 'the rules' to tell them how they should and shouldn't behave?

So 'much' legislation passed!

The reason so much legislation is passed is because so many MPs have come from a legal background.

When the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.

Apart from the fact that less than 90 MP's are lawyers you make a good point.

The largest group of Tories are from a business background (40%). Labour have a lot of teachers and lecturers (38%).

Only 18% of Tories and 10% of Labour MP's are lawyers
