Gave birth to first babies, twin boy and girl 9 days ago...just wondering when you stop crying tears of pure happiness? Utterly consumed with emotion. People will surely lose patience with this soon!

Mine still make me cry and they are 3 and 1 - sometimes it's happy tears! Grin
It's totally overwhelming isn't it.
Congratulations!

Never according to my mum - just as you think you're over it, you get grandchildren and it starts again...

magimedi · 27/04/2015 22:49

Agree with DoJo - my PFBGC is due to arrive any moment & I am weepy already.

Never. It's part of the role!. Congratulations on ur dts from a fellow twin mum Flowers .

catgirl1976 · 28/04/2015 08:57

Never :) It's wonderful

Everyday you will look at them and think "This is amazing, they will never be any better than this - this is the absolute peak of their wonderfulness. I could never love them more than I do today."

And then the next day they will do something, some little thing like a funny noise or a smile, or something huge like walking or saying "I love you" for the first time, and you will love them even more and start crying again.

Congratulations Thanks

You never stop feeling emotional.
This is just the start of crying at a moments notice - at school plays, over a lost teddy bear in a book seeing someone else cry, you name it.

Invest in waterproof mascara and tissues and enjoy it. :)

My DS is 9 and I still feel like an emotional wreck crying at adverts etc.

FortyFacedFuckers · 28/04/2015 09:08

Oh and congratulations on your twins I bet they are adorable.

dougierose · 28/04/2015 10:45

At about the age of 35 when they won't move out of the house, get a job nor do any laundry.

And if you don't allow that to happen, then you will love them every day for the rest of your life and still get misty eyed whenever you think about them: growing up, gaining their independence, coping with bullying at school and turning out to be the most cool, confident well adjusted beautiful young people who you admire, are proud of... sobs.... sorry, has anyone got a tissue....

Hooray! You're now a fully fledged member of the baby(ies) club!

dougierose · 28/04/2015 10:46

And don't even get me started on school Nativity Plays... wails

claracluck1978 · 28/04/2015 11:12

My ID twins are 19months. Not only do I find myself crying over them at the oddest moment I also find that the hard nosed cow I once was has mellowed & can bawl at anything!
Congrats by the way - twins are amazing!!!

The emotions may start changing on the umpteenth time someone says 'double trouble' or 'bet you've got your hands full' or 'my butchers sisters next door neighbours uncle has twins' though ! Grin

minesapintofwine · 28/04/2015 11:55

My dts are 3 and I cried last week on their first day at preschool Blush. It was seeing them in uniform and it seeming such a short time since they were as teeny as ur dts cries a little bit more. Also hearing dt1 say 'love you lots like jelly tots' spontaneously after Ive said it every night for 3+ years-filled up then! So like other posters said there will always be something, but it's lovely and easier to keep in check.

Congratulations op on your twins!
