I dont know where to start. This isn't AIBU, posted in Chat but it's been swolled up.

DD has been close to a girl in nursery. There was a small group and they all got on. Her mom is lovely and we become friends. We have a lot In common and she's a good person.
We have gone to each other houses, been out with and without the children and have helped each other out.

Fast forward a year. They are now in another class.
In the past week it has erupted.

One of the girls have said that DDs friend has been picking on her and not being very nice. They just put it down to childish squabbles. Dribs and drabs have came out and it sounds like they have been as bad as each other.

DD has told me today she doesn't want to be friends with her 'BF' anymore because she's started being nasty and hurts people, shes stopped playing with her and she doesn't want her coming to our house anymore either.

Where do I go from here? Do I tell my friend what's been going on? Ignore it?

We are due to meet up soon and I don't know what to say. The children are very young, 5/6 so I'm really not sure how to handle it.

I've never had to deal with anything like this before. I'm not prepared.

Sorry to make light of it but it's quite normal for 6 yr. old girls to be a bit annoying to their friends and their parents, maybe talk lightly to the teacher about it.

But wait before speaking to the mum, see what happens. It may just pass over.

This is very common. Don't get involved and chances are it will blow over or if this is the nature of the friendship they will blow hot and cold throughout it. Take a step back op, you're gonna have to get used to this.

Welcome to the world of girls op.

My best advice after 2 teenage girls. Never ever get involved unless it's really serious.

I know 3 women who now don't talk to each other after falling out over their girls.

The girls are now friends.

Ludicrous. However listen to your dd and let her pick her friends.

Smile and nod smile and nod. Smile

There is a lot of that. You're doing well clocking they're both like it.
I was advised by a very experienced teacher, encourage them to have a few different friends so they can take the longer view.

Like pyjamas said ^.
Don't get involved. I would guarantee all the drama will be over and forever forgotten by the girls in a few weeks at most. Mothers on the other hand hold a grudge for all eternity. Unless it's a serious situation let the children handle it.
