Knock on the door and hand over proof of delivery to shut them up? Theyre continually messaging me saying that Im ignoring their messages (not true) asking where their item is, that they havent received the item that I posted by recorded delivery last week, and that I haven't provided a tracking number.

No idea why they'd need a tracking number when the parcel was delivered to their address and signed for in their name on the day after it was posted Confused.

They live about 2 minutes away from my parents, who Im visiting later today ...

Make sure you give them copies though, and not originals!!!

icclemunchy · 27/04/2015 15:23

Why not just give them the tracking number?

blue42 · 27/04/2015 15:24

Definitely don't advise it.

If they are trying it on, tell them to open a dispute - Ebay will ask for all the information relevant to their claim and make a decision. I think that messages between you and the buyer also become available to Ebay then.

Much easier, and if you have proof of delivery, there's very little chance of you losing.

pocketsaviour · 27/04/2015 15:24

I would do it provided you have someone else with you in case it kicks off.

And don't give them an original proof of delivery as you'll need it to win the paypal dispute they will inevitably now open.

MovingonUptoLahndan · 27/04/2015 15:25

It won't shut them up, they will just claim you haven't visited and you will lose your proof.

Provide tracking number online and then don't respond until they open a case. Then tell EBay the tracking number which clearly shows it being delivered and signed for.

Smarterthantheaveragebeaver · 27/04/2015 15:25

Well the tracking number will be on the big orange label label that was stuck to the parcel that was delivered last week Grin

How do you know it was signed for in their name? Does the online tracking info show a signature? If it does, take a screenprint of it and email it to the buyer showing the delivery status and signature, and ask them who's signature is. And include a scanned copy of the post office receipt in the email which will also display the tracking number.

Or could it be genuine that they haven't received it? Maybe one of their neighbours took it in and signed for it but haven't had chance to take it round. Ask the buyer to ask their neighbours if they have taken in a parcel.

Smarterthantheaveragebeaver · 27/04/2015 15:42

Royal Mail site shows it signed for at the correct address and the signature is clear. Also shows the date and time. So I put the tracking no. into ebay at 15:25 and five minutes later got a message saying that it had "just arrived in the afternoon post". Hmm

Deffo a try on. I know for a fact that there are no afternoon deliveries in this area. My friends DH is a postie from that local sorting office!

RedDwarfPosse · 27/04/2015 16:24

I don't think they have a leg to stand on then. I'd actually report the buyer to eBay for suspected fraud. Scan and screenprint all your evidence and email it to eBay.

applejacksauntie · 27/04/2015 16:26

Was it an expensive item?

LaurieFairyCake · 27/04/2015 16:45

Do nothing, they could still leave you shitty feedback.

Smarterthantheaveragebeaver · 27/04/2015 16:48

£6.99, plus postage. For some hardly used fitness clothing

Smarterthantheaveragebeaver · 27/04/2015 16:51

Not bothered about the feedback. Its easy enough to get negative stuff removed.

It's all subjective, anyway....

Psipsina · 27/04/2015 17:07

Add to blocked bidder list...well done...numpties!

Smarterthantheaveragebeaver · 27/04/2015 17:55

Ive reported them - their feedback complains that I didnt leave tracking info - delivery took 18 hours in total between me posting and the item arriving at their address, so it was hardly necessary, and I dont believe its compulsory anyway.

I had a look at their selling page - they mainly sell new/used high street sportswear (with a ton of negative feedback themselves for non-delivery/item not as described!) so i left feedback saying they claimed non delivery days after signing for it, and hoping they made a decent profit. Then put them on the blocked list. That'll learn 'em Grin

Oh nice work! Where do these people get off? It's so bizarre.

Smarterthantheaveragebeaver · 27/04/2015 22:38

I couldnt just let this lie as the buyer has messaged me 3 times this evening about the (true and concise) feedback I left. According to him Im telling "nasty lies" Confused

The buyer is a company, so being the nosy type, and with them being fairly local, I had a look for some company info. Its times like this I love the Internet. The bloke listed as director was a couple of years below me at school, and is a relative of a friend. At school, he was a total bellend. I've replied to his latest message calling him by name and saying that I hope he had a nice holiday in Rome last weekend and also that local postie remembers chatting to him about his forthcoming trip whilst he signed for the parcel, at around the time it is showing as signed for. He's not replied further. Probably thinks Im some sort of stalker but hey ho, if it appears to have shut him up...

A combination of him living in a small village where everyone knows who you are and modern technology put this gobshite firmly back in his box. [smug]

Haha op your response is brilliant!

RedDwarfPosse · 28/04/2015 19:24

Excellent!

TheDailyWail · 28/04/2015 19:32

I love that you have given him the heebeegeebies! He'll be sleeping with one eye open cuddling a dumbbell tonight!

londonrach · 28/04/2015 19:41

Lol. Love your update. How was the rome trip ebayer bidder. Dh had great pleasure blocking someone who bought something, caused hell but saying it arrived despite him signed for it. (We had proof). He then bidded on a very rare item (hubby was getting rid of his collection to buy a car) 6 months later. Sent email asking why his bid was accepted. Dh ignored his question. Why this buyers dont see its the same person.

CapnMurica · 28/04/2015 19:42

That is a brilliant result OP! You are right, he is an utter gobshite.
