So dh has been moaning about how this Country doesn't celebrate St Georges Day enough. He asked ds2 if his school was doing anything and he said no. Apparently this must be because they don't want to offend other ethic groups.! This isn't even true as school is a small rural school which is largely white British. Plus they did it last year and the parents moaned about another dress up day.
Yet every year our two oldest parade with cubs for St Georges Day and he cba to go.
aibu to think he is being hypocritical

He is, yes ;)

FenellaFellorick · 26/04/2015 12:08

Yes.
Tell him if he isnt willing to be part of whats going on he needs to stfu about it and that nobody is stopping him organising something himself, so he should crack on.

He wants to sit on his arse and just know other people are celebrating? Idle bugger. Grin

Mrsjayy · 26/04/2015 12:17

Yes he is and closed minded he sounds ranty

YaTalkinToMe · 26/04/2015 12:51

Yes he is, and part of the reason people do not be bothered to do these things is people can not be arsed to go, so people dont put in the hard work arranging them, then the pre mentioned cba's moan and blame it on political correctness. He has proved my ongoing theory Grin

Mrsjayy · 26/04/2015 12:56

Yeah like i said ranty Grin

madreloco · 26/04/2015 12:57

He's an idiot. Who does he think "this country" is, other than him and everyone else in it? He doesn't bother his arse to celebrate, like everyone else, so no, of course its not much celebrated.
He's waiting for someone else to do something interesting he can rock up to, the lazy git.

devon004 · 26/04/2015 17:29

Well I went to the parade and service and it was lovely. I was so proud of my middle one who was a standard bearer.

We celebrated at school with dragons and knights etc. and today one of my ds has just done a 7 mile hike with a load of beavers, cubs and scouts to celebrate St George's Day.

MsAspreyDiamonds · 26/04/2015 18:47

Your do could always go to Greece, Turkey or Palestine where they also celebrate St. Georges Day if he doesn't think it's done properly in England!
