Saw this last night, not my choice I add, and although it is very tragic that someone died and left behind a family. They were in a car that from what I understand was doing double the speed limit on a public road. The movie shows all these complex stunts that are pure fantasy and that's good for escapism but in real life you can just die instantly by speeding and hitting a lampost. The song has just come on the radio about "see you again" and quite frankly no you wont see anyone again, driving at high speed and crashing can kill you instantly. Maybe I'm skwed though as lost a friend last year in a motorbike accident and quite sensitive to this, more than I thought I'd be.

Man, I know! Watching that film mighy encourage people to try and drive cars out of planes and parachute them down too. Or leap between office buildings in a supercar.

It's no laughing matter!

-it's pure Hollywood fantasy!-

Well i dont care what anyone says. I think the films are great (apart from 3, that was just shit).

Just because i like the films doesnt mean that i am gna go and drive my car out of a window, or under a tanker or speed through the streets.

Doubt i will be going to see number 8 though. I mean seriously why ruin a good ending by making another film.

His family do stand to make 10s of millions from it

What a horrible thing to say.

I'm sure they'd all prefer their family member and friend to still be alive rather than making more money. Vin Diesel named his newborn after Paul ffs.

Sazzle41 · 24/04/2015 18:23

I was too busy objectifying Vin Diesel & salivating over gorgeous cars to be arsed about speeding issues. Its fantasy/escapsim, with hot cars, hot men, hot totty. I am 46 & I love cars. And Vin is late 40's isnt he?

yabu. The end scene was beautiful and made me cry.

posted to soon. The comment about his family making money, disgusting. I'm sure that will make them get over the loss Hmm Biscuit

Random, but true - I went to school with the guy who designed / built the sets for this film. He got in touch with me a while back to ask me to buy some British style sockets and light fittings for a hospital scene filmed in the US but set in London. I bought some nice shiny ones from homebase and had them shipped over. I haven't seen any of the films, but might watch fast forward though the new one to see if my purchases made the cut.

OP - you are being a bit unreasonable, but I do understand why. I lost my brother a few years back and I still can't watch films that remind me of the circumstances of his death Flowers

LilMissSunshine9 · 24/04/2015 23:17

wow OP get a grip - who knows what is on the other side or have you died and come back to life and know what happens . I loved the ending it just fit his character on screen and Paul Walker himself off screen so well and I love the song.

Lots of things kill people every day does that mean every type of movie is now arrogant and distasteful e.g. war movies, horror movies etc.
