It's literally across the road.
exact same layout but the internal areas are much better decoration and insulation wise.
outside walls have been newly insulated and pebble dashed where as I am waiting in the house I currently live in.
garden is lovely flat and lawned, where I am now it's all dirt and gravel.
House opposite has sun in the south facing garden my garden doesn't get any as it's blocked by garages and next door.
Have moved 4 times in 6 years, all genuine reasons for move but was determined this would be my last.
But seeing all the work that's needed and this house opposite being so much nicer, makes me consider it.

Buying or renting?

AliMonkey · 21/04/2015 18:28

If renting then definitely. If buying then depends on costs of moving eg stamp duty, estate agent fee, solicitor and how much you value the south facing garden and not having to sort out the redecoration. If you are always going to wish you had the south facing and can afford it then go for it.

Kayakwonder · 21/04/2015 18:51

If you want to and can afford it, why not? Having moved so many times you will have a clear idea of what your needs and wants are so go for it.

Quills · 21/04/2015 18:51

If renting, go for it. If you're buying, though, bear in mind that your prospective buyer may struggle to get a mortgage approved on your current property so soon after you took one out.

I'd be surprised if you could get out of your AST before 6 months....

Cluesue · 21/04/2015 21:40

Eustasiavye · 21/04/2015 21:51

Yes go for it.

PtolemysNeedle · 21/04/2015 21:53

If the other property is so much nicer, is there going to be much difference in rent?

hidingfromthem · 21/04/2015 21:58

do it.

AntiHop · 22/04/2015 01:41

I'd go for it.

IamtheDevilsAvocado · 22/04/2015 02:43

If you can afford it! Go for it!

Youre improving your environment without having to be the tenant that has to tolerate months of disruption... I speak as someone who has tolerated months of disruption when LL has decided to improve his asset... And increase our rent to pay for itConfused
