AIBU?

To really really hate it when people use "was" instead of "were"?

Irrational of me I know, but it really irritates me when people say "when you was" or "what was you doing" etc. Does this make anyone else a bit ragey?

And yes I know I’m a grammar pedant and no doubt BVVU!

I guess it's hard to read tone on the internet.
Quite right, I suppose it's how we each hear it in our head.

UsualS, in the league table of MN nastiness, if it was meant as such, I think it was tending towards the relegation end.

dessert and desert.

An example from the teacher's modelled writing:

"The sun in the garden beat down making me feel as though I was lying in hot dessert..." (apple pie or spotted dick?)

Yes she did mean desert- she read it out.
