I know this is AIBU but I am going mad with it! It's a song from the late70s or early 80s...something about Autumn...leaves...she's leaving him...going somewhere warmer...]

It's got a haunting sort of cheesy-ness to it.

Oh now the bloody tripods did terrify me, yet I was transfixed. I wanted to call my firstborn Eloise after the character in that series and out popped a boy. By the time DD was born I changed my mind.

Listened to Forever Autumn and thought to myself 'oh I'll listen to Nights in White Satin next' ....................and then Nights in White Satin started playing all by itself.

Incidentally I still of that song being called Knights in White Satin.

I loved the Tripods, I had such a crush on Will Parker. Such a great programme, shame they never made the third series.

Just listening to your song OP - I remember it well - one of those songs (like the Nilsson one and Sad Cafe's Eveyday hurts and the one about how "You left me just when I needed you most") where you really wish the writer had got himself along to mumsnet relationships section where they would have been sorted out pronto and sent on their (cheerier) way!
