Drink has been taken so apologies in advance. First world problem n all that but is it this pipe work shit?
Considering the whole room was being plastered anyway why couldn't he have buried the pipes in the wall?
What would you do?

But the question is whether the plumber should have assumed he should bury them without the customer asking for this. ToBee you say you'll be burying the pipes, that's great, but presumably you will achieve this by, y'know, mentioning it to the plumber?!

Ours is in the plasterwork.

chunky you can't necessarily go by catalogues. Do you think all the loos in all bathroom sales catalogues are plumbed in? On the kettles pageof the argos catalogue there are no leads shown, but this doesn't mean kettles don't have leads.

Our boiler is in a cupboard but I've had a couple that weren't. It depends on thebudget of whoever pays for the kitchen refit I suppose.

AmateurSeamstress No, I'll do the work myself because I know shoddy tradesmen do bodges like that pictured above rather than going to the extra effort of doing it right. Smile

I had this issue with a plumber a few years ago, whereby I mistook his 'we could box those pipes in and it'll be grand, you'll not notice them' as 'I will box those pipes in beautifully as part of the quoted job.' What he meant to say was. 'Im only the plumber but my mate Gary The Carpenter will happily provide you with a quote for boxing them in, and then my mate Derek The Painter will happily provide you with a quote for painting them.' Angry

amateur slapping my forehead in the realisation of what I should have done.
So I should have specified that I didn't want ugly pipes along the wall even though he has been very much part if the room's re-fit. It is not a given. In fact most people would Indeed prefer to look at boxing in or pipes running along a wall .. Sheez I wish I'd known.
So I should have said "hey, Alfie, do you think you could ask me to mark where i want the towel rails about 4 times cause you never listen to tge response call in your mate the plaster to board & plaster the whole room, then stick the towel rail on the wall and leave a load of fucking great ugly pipes trailing along the wall because you couldn't be bothered to organise yourself to provide the feeds for said towel rails?
