My DH favours a Plaid Brushed Cotton Workshirt.

Do I win anything?

You let your menfolk buy their own clothes? I buy everything for DH except shoes... he's not safe let out alone (fortunately he hates shopping)

ParkingFred · 17/04/2015 23:44

My husband has a jacket that is rather beige.

But it's from Ted Baker & it's a Harrington style, so I will let him off.

We are looking for a new shed though.

YouTheCat · 17/04/2015 23:45

My dad used to polish his Rover.

Later, he used to also polish his Volvo.

He liked sorted his tools out and making me wander around MFI every single weekend or Allied Carpets if I'd been really bad .

Shed Outfit! Grin Shock

Shatners husband ready for an afternoon of shedding.

Postchildrenpregranny · 17/04/2015 23:45

I rather like Plaid Brushed cotton . It's sort of comforting

ShatnersBassoon · 17/04/2015 23:46

Yes, the shed outfit has a checked flannel shirt, teamed with a rustly body warmer.

ShatnersBassoon · 17/04/2015 23:47

That's him! But his shed has more windows for maximum exposure.

Valsoldknickers · 17/04/2015 23:47

How about a nice M&S lilac or pink v-neck jumper, or anything from their Blue Harbour range?

SteamTrainsRealAleandOpenFires · 17/04/2015 23:48

LTB. It's only a matter of time before the slippers and the flatcap emerge.

Be very vigilant, incase he decides to get THESE! Shock

squoosh · 17/04/2015 23:48

Plaid brushed cotton is sexy. Think tanned American man who cuts down trees with his bare hands and turns it into beautiful furniture.

AgentProvocateur · 17/04/2015 23:48

Salmotrutta he insists that they're stylish Autograph smart trousers but they're definitely slacks

Postchildrenpregranny · 17/04/2015 23:48

Am I the only person who thinks men whose bum has gone a bit flat (the way older men's bums do) look really silly in jeans ? But the alternative doesn't have to be slacks...

Salmotrutta · 17/04/2015 23:50

I secretly like the Plaid Brushed Cotton Shirt too.

It rather suits DH who is quite "Handy" - or, as we say up her in Scotland "He's got a braw pair of hands on him".

Crocs are wrong though.

On anyone.

Postchildrenpregranny · 17/04/2015 23:50

Ryan Gosling could make M and S slacks look sexy

bananaandcustard · 17/04/2015 23:51

steamtrain !! oh no! not the boston strangler driving glove!

that is my future as a woman married to this man? really?

OP posts:
Valsoldknickers · 17/04/2015 23:52

Very Alan Partridge don't you think?!

Salmotrutta · 17/04/2015 23:54

SteamTrains - now I have to take issue here.

Each item in isolation is okay.

It's the combination of all at once.

But - if worn separately, a nice pair of leather driving gloves on someone like the late James Hunt is rather ... nice.

squoosh · 17/04/2015 23:54

Maybe not today. maybe not tomorrow but soon OP you'll look down and realise that you too are wearing beige. Probably a beige skirt with a sensible elasticated waist.

SteamTrainsRealAleandOpenFires · 17/04/2015 23:54

I wouldn't know about the gloves that "The Boston Strangler" wore. But I'm sure a flat cap & driving gloves are linked somehow.

Salmotrutta · 17/04/2015 23:56

I grew up in an era when leather driving gloves represented Stirling Moss, Graham Hill, Jackie Stewart, Jim Clark etc.

Proper racing drivers.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 17/04/2015 23:56

It could be worse. FIL came to stay last year, and brought the following clothes (for a 9 day stay):

Two pairs of chinos - beige.

Two heavy cotton shirts - beige.

One heavy cotton jacket - yup - you've got it - beige!

One tie - brown.

One waistcoat - light brown.

He dressed exactly the same every bloody day - and every day he washed, dried and ironed the previous day's beige outfit.

We'd considered a trip to the beach, to have chips and walk the dogs - we didn't dare go - we'd have lost him the moment he stepped onto the sand!

bananaandcustard · 17/04/2015 23:58

driving gloves are for men with nasty sweaty hands who cant drive a car without sliding sweat on the wheel.

Now, how do I get rid of this jacket?

OP posts:
Salmotrutta · 17/04/2015 23:59

Grin at "sensible Elasticated waist"

Oooh. And I rather liked your picture squoosh!
