To say Slimming world food is disgusting?

I joined Slimming world again on Monday. I did it for 4 months around 4 years ago and lost 2 stone.

Im now bigger than i ve ever been so rejoined.

I didnt do any of the recipes last time from the books and found the diet boring which is why i gave it up.

This time i was determined to buy the cookbooks and do a variety of different things to avoid me getting fed up with it.

So far i have cooked 3 meals out the books and all have been disgusting!!

I ve even tried the slimming world meals from iceland, again it was disgusting and i had 2 mouthfuls and that was it.

Im a member of a slimming world group on facebook and people are posting pictures of their tea and saying it was delicious!

Aibu to think the meals are far from delicious?

I'm doing slimming world. I don't eat the frozen meals. I like their quarter pounder burgers but that's it.

I cook from scratch most days.

I like paprika chicken, Cajun chicken pasta. Quick Risotto is a good one and I love their speedy Jambalaya recipe. Pinch of Nom have some good recipes. I like egg muffins for lunch or breakfast. I still haven't mastered chilli or Bolognese to a nice recipe.

Some recipes haven't been to my taste, but others have.

I just make a basic soup with carrots, onion, potatoes and lentils. Have done a fling it all in with mixed veggies out the fridge too.

I don't eat a lot of bread. Tend to use my B choice on Ryvita fruit crunch topped with banana and strawberries. Or a roll for my burger, or wraps for chicken fajita. I tend to have some crispbreads to put spreading cheese on if nothing takes my fancy.

Annoyed with myself.

zhan I love team rh! I've been following a couple of months - I've lost over a stone, eat pretty much what I want and I'm getting fit. It's without a doubt the best £3.50 I've ever spent

Look up rebelfit on Facebook basically dieting is the devils work! It is recommended that you learn to eat intuitively and use exercise to improve your body shape. Now I'm just beginning and am apprehensive about this but I totally understand that diets are not working for me so need to try something else- I'm just not sure how I am going to fit consistent exercise into my life (or learn to eat intuitively!).Smile

I'm doing slimming world and have lost 2 stone, as has my OH. We don't really do the SW recipes as such though, more just follow the basic principles (which is mostly common sense). Cook everything from scratch, lots of lean meat, fresh fruit and veggies, limited junk food etc. I don't eat the mugshots/ muller lights/ ready meals etc that they actively promote as the whole point for us was to change our lifestyle and stop eating crappy convenience food. I ate Easter eggs at the weekend but was sensible and ate healthily the rest of the week so still lost weight. A lot of the recipes have a stupid amount of ingredients too or take hours. If I fancied a packet of haribos I'd have some as an occasional treat, I don't want to spend 3 hours fannying about with some yoghurt and gelatine to make a 'slimming friendly' version that tastes like yoghurt and gelatine Hmm

Also just noticed how old this thread is Blush

Restrict calories, swap out bad food for good food etc etc, it's the same thing. Not using the word diet to describe eating to lose weight doesn't make it any less of a diet Hmm
