Been pacing myself and not watching all 13 episodes in one go!
It's so dark! Gritty!! And a tad violent!! But brilliantly made!
Watch it!! Grin

Binge-watched. Because I have no will.
And LOVED it!! Dark, broody, lick-able hero, Rosario DAWSON (!!!), and a good array of villains!

Chips1999 · 22/04/2015 15:28

DH and I have watched the first three episodes, really enjoying it so far!

EuphemiaCoxton · 22/04/2015 15:34

YANBU
Daredevil is smoking hot.
I'm massively into stuff like this. I was saying last night to dh this is awesome but you know what would make it better? A proper ninja fight and lo and behold......

StrawberryTallCake · 22/04/2015 15:36

I'm in (not reading the whole thread just in case of spoilers)! The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is a brilliant netflix series too - easy to watch and funny!

MuddlingMackem · 22/04/2015 15:41

Only watched the first episode so far, but DH, DS and I enjoyed it. DD is a little too young for it though so she's missing out for now.

ArcheryAnnie · 22/04/2015 16:05

This sounds right up our alley. May I ask: what age do you think it's suitable for?

MagelanicClouds · 22/04/2015 16:15

Enjoying it, managing not to binge watch for once! Promised myself I wouldn't when the third series of Grimm appeared but I managed to watch that in a week (thankyou DS2 and your sudden decision to wake up lots in the night that week).
It is very dark in both senses of the word and the plot does build slowly, but I like it for that. Wilson Fisk is a truly excellent bad guy!

Also love Suits, White Collar, Grimm and all of Fringe is on Netflix now. If only Netflix had been in existence a few years sooner than it was, we'd probably have more than one series of Firefly!

bruffin · 22/04/2015 16:19

Not sure but it is very very violent.

Beloved72 · 22/04/2015 16:27

"The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is a brilliant netflix series too - easy to watch and funny!"

Yes yes yes yes!

It's made me laugh more than anything I've watched for years.

Grin
BsshBosh · 22/04/2015 17:10

DH and I love it too. We're pacing ourselves. I love how dark it is, how hot the superhero is, NYC scenes, Vincent Di Ofrio as Fisk.

BsshBosh · 22/04/2015 17:10

I like the slow unfolding of the story and background

Bea · 23/04/2015 14:13

oooo! I'm soooo jealous of those who are managing to savour it all!!! It's so exciting!!!

Charlie "Yum" Cox was on Lorraine this morning! Will have to catch that!

Yes! To second season... but when will it make an appearance... and will season 1 be available on dvd?

Hooray there's a Daredevil thread!

I've got 3 more to go until 2016. I was happy to see it's been picked up for a second season.

I'm not sure how I feel about releasing the whole season at once. I like having a week to consider what's happened and come up with absurd theories about the next episode.

Of course the flip side is binging. Except when DS (7) comes out to complain that it's too loud.Grin

I have my fingers crossed to see more of Claire as a love interest.

And Avengers on Friday night. Yay!

Bea · 01/05/2015 17:46

hoorah! another Daredevil fan!!!

Clairedevil!
I love Claire and Matt... although I know canon wise it's supposed to be matt and karen... i really can't see it... Claire is much more suited to matt... i love the banter...

soooo jealous you've got 3 more to watch!!! don't know if i can wait until 2016!!!!

OP posts:
Bea · 01/05/2015 17:55

Until Season 2 2016...

I'll have to make do with this!

Good fanfic is hard to find...spelling mistakes... out of character dialogue... "unusual" pairings (nuff said!!! Shock) but...this ones a goody!

OP posts:
hopefulpuffin · 02/05/2015 02:15

I was up til midnight watching the last three. LOVED IT!

Especially since I went to see The Avengers too AND DS is out camping with DH so it was basically an entire evening of uninterrupted Marvel.

I've got one more night of freedom before the Happy Campers come home so I do believe I'm going to rewatch Guardians of the Galaxy. Grin

Now I need someone knowledgeable to talk about the comics/graphic novels or whatever I'm supposed to call them.

If, let's just say, a 40-something gal wanted to start reading them, where would she start? I'm asking for a, ahem, friend, of course.....Wink

Bea · 02/05/2015 19:44

Hee Hee! I know where you're coming from! Ahem!
Daredevil wise... I've heard loads of mentions that the Frank Miller Daredevil man without fear.. Is a good place to start... Especially as it's this series that influenced the brilliant Netflix series!
Google . As I've read a few articles with suggestions for the graphic novel novice!!
Looked up the Frank Miller Daredevil on Amazon... Though feel I might be taking a step too far into geekdom if I add to basket!! Shock

Me and DP have just finished season 1, I can't wait for season 2!

I'm not familiar with the Daredevil comics but I'd like it if Fisk is somehow involved in an accident that turns him into some sort of superhuman bad guy. Despite him being the main baddie I really liked his character!

And I also love Karen and Foggy Grin

Flambola · 02/05/2015 21:58

Fisk doesn't need superpowers.

Jumblebee · 02/05/2015 22:23

I know Flambola, but I just want to see him back for the next season!

Bea · 02/05/2015 22:51

Oh! He will be back and mightily peed off with Daredevil!

hopefulpuffin · 03/05/2015 06:16

Heaven help me, I just clicked"place order" on Man Without Fear.

I have decided to embrace my inner fangirl. At some point DS is either going to think I'm the coolest mom ever or die of embarrassment. DH has opted for the latter.

SummerTuityFruity · 03/05/2015 09:08

It's been excellent - dark, gripping and great characters...although I still fancy Oliver Queen in Arrow more than Matt Murdoch Blush

Bea · 03/05/2015 09:34

Hopefulpuffin!! Shock Grin
Wow!! I think I'll join you on the fangirl bus!! I am the Woman Without Fear!! (I will keep repeating that to myself when dh raises his eyes in exasperation!)

I've been looking for something to add to my basket on Amazon to claim free delivery!! (no prime here!) ... Rewatched stardust the other day with Dd (13)...

dd - felt like she'd really appreciate the humour, whimsy and loveliness (a modern day princess bride!)

Me? - same reasons as dd... But also the lovely Charlie Cox! Grin

Stardust dvd only £3 ish so man without fear will sit very nicely!!

Season 2 seems such a long way away!!

OP posts:
Bea · 03/05/2015 09:37

Ps! Dd squealed away at stardust and even declared she it's her favourite film and loves it more than hunger games!! (which is saying something!!!) she's in the fangirl squee stage at the moment!! Stardust.. And sherlock!! Must be the .. Although I am quite pleased that she has such good taste!! Grin
