Went to see John Wick with DH at the weekend. Very enjoyable well choreographed nonsense.

But no way does Keanu Reeves look or move like he's 50.

I don't know much about him Yep, what tragedies has he had in his life?

ZenNudist · 13/04/2015 23:45

I went to see that film too, gave in to dh's choice of film nothing to do with wanting to lust after Keanu. Oh no

He's looking fabulous for fifty. But then again he's always looked good.

His good friend and peer River Phoenix died of a drug OD

His daughter was still born

His ex, the mother of his still born daughter was killed in a RTA whilst under the influence

His sister suffers from leukaemia

showtunesgirl · 13/04/2015 23:48

I used to have a Keanu Reeves scrapbook when I was a teenager. Blush

Momagain1 · 13/04/2015 23:49

50 year olds vary a lot.

i thought Reeves was funny looking, but he has aged into something better.

James Spader was beautiful, and now he just looks blobby. And bald.

(I really dont know what I would do if dh lost his hair. It's bad enough he stopped wearing it long. )

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 13/04/2015 23:53

Shall I point out here that Keanu is the same age as Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp and, er, Nigel Farage?

glittertits · 13/04/2015 23:54

Don't see the appeal at all, sorry!

Oh I love Keanu Reeves. My love began with Paula Abdul's Rush Rush video - in which he featured.
Loved him in the Matrix and Constantine and the very cheesy Lake House

Frizzcat · 13/04/2015 23:57

Oh and Speed

Zhx3 · 14/04/2015 00:01

I loved Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. Still quote it with one of my colleagues sometimes Grin.

emotionsecho · 14/04/2015 00:03

Thanks for the information Dixie/AF, he has had a lot to cope with.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 14/04/2015 00:42

Everyone knows he is immortal right?

I still would.

Also, travels on the Tube, lives in a normal house, does loads very quietly for charity and is, by all accounts, a decent man. I feel for him, it's been a hard life.

In the Olden Days, when I still objectified men in a very un-PC way, me and my friends used to have a running joke about Bill and Ted, "shhhh, Keanu, no need to talk". Same applies to David Beckham.

MoustacheofRonSwanson · 14/04/2015 00:50

ZenNudist When we went into film, girl taking tickets looked at DH and siad "Ah, John Wick, you want to see some action.." and then turned to me and said "and you want to see Keanu Reeves".

DH went to a stag do once where the Best Man decided that he looked like Keanu Reeves. Best Man then got very drunk at the wedding reception and kept pointing at DH shouting "KEEE-AHH-NUUU!". DH pretended to be embarrassed but was secretly rather pleased.

This is not a stealth boast because DH doesn't really look much like Keanu Grin

Breadrocks · 14/04/2015 06:57

Erm..I'm sure he's a lovely man, but I can't be the only one who thinks he's had some 'work' done?
Saw him recently on TV and yes he's aged well but his skin had the definite look of a waxwork doll?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not judging, but let's not pretend it's all good genes and clean living...?

Bearfrills · 14/04/2015 07:22

Maybe that was make up and studio lighting?

HeyDuggee · 14/04/2015 07:30

He looked 16-17 when he was nearing his 30s, so it's not a huge surprise he looks more like late 30s in his early 50s. He and Nigella... Lucky genes

Bowlersarm · 14/04/2015 07:39

Yanbu.

He looks fantastic for 50.

He gets better with age, if anything.
