to be worried about holiday booking?

We've just booked our summer holiday, 2 weeks in Minorca!! Hurray. All well and good until further googling tells me that the hotel we've booked is adult only?? They've accepted our booking for us and 2 DC, an I going to get an email before we go that we're being shifted hotels???

DP says that it can't be adult only, I think they've made a mistake with accepting our booking. Knew it would be too good to be true.

Have you tried emailing them?

ginmakesitallok · 12/04/2015 21:37

I've messaged them, booked online. Guess we'll see what they say in the morning.

Which Hotel is it? Maybe someone knows it and can advise prior to you being able to call tomorrow.

Check Tripadvisor and ask on there? Would kill me having to wait overnight!

ginmakesitallok · 12/04/2015 21:42

Booked with on the beach, sunprime cala blanca.

have you booked on line? Go back into the company website and recheck using the 'adult only' tick box option to see if your hotel comes up in the list.

ShellyF · 12/04/2015 21:42

I have just returned from a holiday at an adult only hotel.A couple turned up with a child of around eleven years old.
The Thomson rep had to frantically ring around trying to find them alternative accommodation.

PourMyselfACupOfAmbition · 12/04/2015 21:43

Some hotels only accept children during certain dates

ChantenayCarrot1 · 12/04/2015 21:45

Just read on Trip Advisor that it is adult only from 2015

Koalafications · 12/04/2015 21:47

Facilities & Services
Shuffle board, table tennis, french bowls, volleyball, javalot, water polo, keep fit. Nice swimming pool area with a separate childrens pool, sunbeds and umbrellas. Play ground for children. Dining room, sitting room, TV room (music-video) and games room. 24hr reception, restaurant, bar, snack-bar in pool area, adult & kids entertainment are some of the guests privileges of Cala Blanca hotel.

thenightsky · 12/04/2015 21:47

When are you actually going? Someone on tripadvisor has mentioned it is changing to adults only in the summer of 2015.

oddfodd · 12/04/2015 21:47

I've just googled it - it's an adult-only complex according to Thomas Cook and Love Holidays. On the Beach are cheap but a bit crap in terms of service in my experience.

If you've just booked it online, you can cancel within 14 days

Koalafications · 12/04/2015 21:47

Also mentions a children's pool...

Shakirasma · 12/04/2015 21:47

Looks like they've made a mistake accepting your booking, that hotel is definitely changed to an adult only this year, according to the hotel's own comments on trip advisor.

I think they have accepted your booking in error. A quick google states it is definitely adult only, minimum age is 16. Sorry op! I'd phone tomorrow.

Koalafications · 12/04/2015 21:49

Thomas Cook are quite clear about it being an adults only hotel though...

Find yourself at the peaceful Sunprime Cala Blanca on a stretch of beach. You'll enjoy relaxing by the pool or having 'me' time in the spa at the adults-only complex. And with occasional evening entertainment, you'll be able to reach the resort centre within minutes to explore the bars and restaurants.

Please note: minimum age 16yrs

Birdsgottafly · 12/04/2015 21:50

Looks like it's just changed its name and has become Adults Only, this year, do the Website that you booked through might not of updated the criteria.

Some company's will decline or accept a booking, then have to sort it out on arrival.

PurpleSwift · 12/04/2015 21:50

It's also looks as if the adult only is new for 2014/2015 so I think anything metioning child friendly amenities is out of date.

Unexpected · 12/04/2015 21:50

According to Thomas Cook it is adults only and on Trip Advisor they say it was being refurbished last winter to become adults only. Sounds like you might need to get on to them in the morning to cancel!

ForalltheSaints · 12/04/2015 21:54

Hope its resolved quickly and the new hotel you end up in is a good one.

ginmakesitallok · 12/04/2015 22:01

Bums. Any suggestions for alternative hotels we should ask for, or alternative resorts? The hotel's own website says it's adult only now, shame because it's been upgraded and looks lovely.

We went to Viva last year in Cala n Bosch which we really liked if you like an all inclusive/lying by the pool/kids club/evening entertainment sort of place
