to think only tall natives should be allowed in gardens

I'm getting increasingly annoyed with my chav neighbours and their ugly fast growing not native trees.

Aibu to think that there should be a residential law saying only native tall trees should be allowed? This would be much better for the environment also

Ummmmm....... we have these trees. They only block off our sun though, 'cos they are on the south side of the garden. Last time we had them trimmed, our neighbours were worried that we might be cutting them down - so they aren't universally disliked.

If any neighbour complained though, I would get rid of them. I don't like to inconvenience other people if I can help it.

I'm another one who had to read the title twice - was expecting something else :-)
