To get my haircut whilst I'm on sick leave?

I've namechanged for fear of outing myself.
To cut a long story short i've been on sick leave from work with vertigo and migraine for 5 months. I'm just starting to feel a bit better and be able to go out a bit although..so far just to local shops etc..but I'm still unwell and spending most of my day doing physio, sleeping, etc.
I'm just wondering if it would be unreasonable for me to have my haircut? I'm still waiting to see occupational health so can't talk to them but feel really concerned about being seen out and about doing 'nice' stuff and know that people can be really judgey when actually i've just had the most awful few months ever but on the flip side I don't think being a prisoner in my home is going to help me get better any quicker..quite the opposite (and I desperately need a haircut) AIBU?

Go get your hair cut! It might even benefit your health and confidence that you can accomplish it. Hope it helps you to feel a bit better. 5 months is a long time and you could do with a pleasant outing.

I was off sick for three months with pregnancy sickness and on the good days (maybe one a week) I would do what I'd been putting off on the days I was literally just sitting on the sofa from dropping off my toddler at childcare to picking her up. I would get the top up shop, get a new watch battery and yes get my hair done at the 'best' time of the day for my sickness (not all in the same day! I'd manage just one of those a day/a week). If anyone had seen me I'd have said this is the first and only time out this week. I can understand why you're nervous; I live in a place where it's virtually impossible to leave the house without seeing someone I know. But if you need it done and you think your health is up to it then I'd do it.

If you wanted to go to a spa or even on holiday it would be fine with work. Some colleagues may be pissy but the fact is you are unfit FOR WORK - that doesn't mean unfit for leaving the house, or travelling, or having a spa day or anything else that isn't work.
