to not understand why some threads about "sensitive" subjects disappear without trace?

TAAT sorry, but someone posted yesterday and obviously it took a lot of courage to post, but then it just disappeared! This seems to be happening loads, and surely it will put people off posting anything serious if the threat of it being deleted looms? And the poor posters that came loo!ing for support to have their threads deleted? I don't get it!!

What did the deletion message say?

wineandpopcorn · 10/04/2015 13:16

Didn't see one, it just went pffft!

The thread was deleted whilst MNHQ look into some issue about the OP I believe.

It doesn't appear to have been deleted because of the subject matter.

But I just don't get how mumsnet get to decide what is genuine or not, based on one thread. It seems like unless you are posting about fluffy things then they are too scared to let posts stand.

I obviously have far too much time on my hands to be worrying about this, but it pisses me off!

I know the thread you're thinking about and I wondered what had happened there too. No deletion message at all.

usualsuspect333 · 10/04/2015 13:27

It was more than likely a troll thread.

There's a lot of them about.

I doubt they based it on one thread.

They're always asking people to 'report report report', so maybe someone did and that's why they looked into it.

I have no clue which thread you're talking about btw, I just think it's probably not as straightforward as it may seem.

That's patently not true.

Why bother saying something that is disproved simply by erm…reading the threads?

wineandpopcorn · 10/04/2015 13:36

Its just my point of view, that anything remotely out of the norm, seems to disappear. As I said previously, I obviously have far too much time on my hands Grin.
