It was on the TV on Wednesday night. The dogs were getting trained to attack. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Those poor dogs, I think they said they were a banned breed, but pit bull types anyway, these men were training them to attack on command. They were saying the dogs were their weapons and they had them to protect them.
They got them swinging off trees to train them to never let go. One of them was using these newly planted trees for his dog to jump up and swing off, when the tree was destroyed he went on to the next tree. He would have destroyed the lot until a woman said something to him. Then to top it off he let the dog shit by a lamp post, looked at it and walked away.
Aibu to think this easily identifiable man should not get away with it.

YANBU I watched it and felt like he was ruining a lovely dog and giving a bad name to responsible dog owners. These type of shows are meant to be provocative though.

I don't agree with some of what I saw and if there's a conection with dog fighting/illegal breeding.

However the level of commitment, training and exercise given often can't be faulted.

Ialways have a German Shepherd and I like the guarding aspect.

I know people who live in dodgy flats who choose Staffs as protection as opposed to something fluffy. I don't see that as an issue, in itself.

I see much worse dog ownership by people who should know better, daily.

I'm all for training dogs, but this lots methods of training was bad, they were cruel to the dog, kicking and hitting it, and I think the dog was seen as some kind of status symbol making them look tough. Apart from that, those lovely trees, it was terrible to see them destroyed.

I've got a dog, she's a lovely obedient dog who comes when called and never aggresive with other dogs or humans. I've never trained her to attack but I know she'd protect me if she had to. Most dogs have a natural instinct to protect their owners. This lot were using the dogs as an aggressive extension of themselves imo.

The lady with the 3 pit bulls shocked me. She knew two of the dogs didn’t like each-other yet kept them still, low and behold one of the Dogs got free and attacked the other.

Im no Dog lover but that was awful to see. Fair play she was taking the right course of action through the courts to get a license to keep them, but surly it makes common sense not to put two Dogs together that don’t get along, especially pit bulls

It was quite a shocking program really. Most of the dogs..... well... not a good example of family pets to say the least. It was like watching somebody walk around with their finger on a loaded handgun. None of the owners seemed to appreciate just what live changing ending damage one of those dogs could do.

Especially that dozy cow with her THREE pitbulls, none of which she could control properly as they got into a fight.

MadgeFinn · 10/04/2015 14:56

I know, she made out she was a responsible owner but she wasn't. She proved she couldn't handle those dogs, they hated each other but she insisted on keeping them all. One of them she seemed to keep caged up, no wonder it was aggresive.

She was anything but responsible and I got the feeling she would not always be muzzling those dogs as soon as the cameras had gone. She barely had the strength to control both dogs when out walking them; then went nuts at the other dog owner when they came within a few feet of her. Newsflash, if you walk your dog in a public space there is a good chance other people and dogs will come close by.... if you can't control your dog in that scenario then don't take it out to the park.
