Can anyone shed any light on what this mark could be on my DD's foot? She's three. It came up overnight - it's not raised itchy or painful, but doesn't wash off. I'll get her to a Dr but just thought I'd see if anyone had any thoughts?

I have come across this old thread in search for answers.. and found nothing conclusive, other than possible blood blister???
I just wanted to mention another similar thing I came across as well called tinea nigra...

Did anyone ever get any answers with these little bruise spots on their kiddos feet?

fj0008 · 01/01/2021 10:28

Does anybody has answer for what is that?

@MrsJulia

Hello, I as well saw that this is an old thread but wanted to post anyways. My son came home from preschool also with one of these exact spots on his foot. Its fairly large considering he's 2.5 and hasn't had any trauma to his foot that we know of. Spot doesn't hurt or bother him. Can any previous moms on here reply what they found out?? Thanks so much! I'm probably going to start a new post as well so I can post his photo. This is beyond bizarre and I'm sure other mons would like to know what this is so I will keep you posted.
Have you ever figured it out? My son has the same came out of nowhere

Found a brown spot/mark on my 3 year old today which is identical to this. Did anyone find out what it is? I have seen so many identical posts but no clear diagnosis

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 29/08/2021 22:50

The OP says it was a blood blister.

Faith2019bella · 19/10/2021 03:41

Yellow callus on the feet:
It is an area of thick, hard & dead skin and may involve a part of feet or a whole of the bottom of feet.
:Due to Friction and Pressure experienced by the feet, the skin thickens and hardens to compensate for the opposing forces on the feet.
:Oxygenated blood reaching via arteries and capillaries gives color to the skin. Due to skin thickening and hardening, this color is obscured, causing yellowish discoloration of the feet.

Signs and symptoms of callus formation include:
Usually Painless but may become Painful
:Thickened dead skin
:Skin discoloration
:Dry, flaky, and rough skin
:Waxy-appearing skin.
:Causes of Callus formation are:
:Poorly fitting foot-wears
:Standing or sitting for longer duration/ :Excessive Pressure on the foot
:Wearing high-heeled shoes.
:High arched foot
:Obesity
:Bunions
:Abnormal gait
:Any Surgery of the foot

Treatment includes:
Regularly soaking feet in warm water followed by scrub or exfoliation by a pumice stone. Avoid excess scrubbing as it can cause open sores and infections
Paraffin wax treatment
Medications to remove callus from foot such as Salicylic acid
Electrocautery or Radio-frequency
Laser removal
Surgery

Any updates?

@Krishto First of all, this thread is from eight years ago so I doubt you'll get a reply from the original poster. Secondly, if you read all the OP's posts you'll see that her GP confirmed that it was just an ordinary blood blister and not anything to worry about.

Jamiestromberg · 28/11/2023 15:42

My kid has the same
thing. Did we determine what it is?

fj0008 · 28/11/2023 21:01

The marks gone away within a few days. It will become smaller and smaller and it will disappear soon. No worries!
What cause this? We don't know. Our guess is something irritated the skin. Maybe there was friction?
