To politely warn them about this?

We have an old dog who doesn't like walking anymore and so is content to get her exercise/toilet in our back garden. She is flea treated monthly and wormed 8-weekly.

Two neighbours have 6 cats between them and foxes also roam our area.

Yesterday, I cleaned up some poo that looked like it had tapeworm or worm larvae in it (gross!). I immediately retreated our dog with flea/worming medicine.

I've just been out and picked up more dog poo and then noticed a much smaller poo with the same worm/larve stuff in it. I think now maybe a cat or fox has fouled in our garden (I think perhaps a cat because it looks like cat poo, not the usual black fox poo).

WIBU if I posted a note to my neighbours (or text the other neighbour: I don't have the others number) to politely warn them what I've found, and ask them to check their cat's litter, in the interest of their cat's safety? I don't want to accuse them of anything as I don't even know if it's definitely cats/their cats. But likewise, I do not want worm-infested poo in my garden where my children play and don't want to keep cleaning it up? (It happened before last autumn and I said nothing).

YANBU. I am a cat owner and would be pleased with that information...well not pleased but you know what I mean!

Yanbu

I'm a cat owner and would hate to think my cats needed treatment and I had failed to notice the heads up would be most welcome

Agree but where was the poo? Do cats not bury theirs? (don't know lots about cat poo)

Molotov · 08/04/2015 21:02

Ah, okay, thanks for answering all Smile I'll write a tactful note warning them to be vigilant.

FWIW, the offending poo was done in long grass - it's shot up over the last week so making perfect conditions! I plan to cut it tomorrow and sprinkle some natural cat deterrent along the borders.

I'd want to know even if it turned out my cats were ok because if the cats not using s litterbox I mogjt never know there was a problem and would really appreciate the info!!

Dinosaur not really...they sort of aim a few back kicks of earth at them but mostly miss or just dust them. Mine are litter trained but I've seen how they do it as my garden has a lot of visiting cats.
