To think fizzy drinks in cake mix is wrong on every level possible

I'm on a Facebook group for slow cooker recipes and people keep posting recipes for cake with fizzy drinks mixed in AIBU to think this is disgustingly unhealthy ?? especially with most of them using packet mix cake which has more sugar in than a cake mix from scratch adding cans of coca cola on top of that and feeding it to your DC is asking for trouble surely i know cakes aren't exactly healthy in the first place but that's no reason to make them about 1000x more unhealthy with about the equivalent of 50 spoons of sugar in it ?? plus i can only imagine it tastes like warm flat fizzy pop that's been left out in the sun ? Please tell me im not alone on this one btw i myself use betty crocker mixes every few months or so so im not prejudiced to the actual cake mixes which are quite delicious

I am entertained on fb by the slow cooking and the fruglers groups.

I have also somehow recently found myself on Get real TLC lol. This is a good fb page if you are a night owl. Full of heated debate about TLC programmes, mostly they discuss the Duggars.

I made one for my niece who is allergic to eggs. I used diet cherry coke and it was so nice. Didn't use cake mix though. I love that group and the fakeaway recipe was actually really tasty. Gorgeous with some pittas, onions, tomatoes and a shitload of garlic sauce. :o Even the kids all liked it and it's rare that the whole family likes the same thing. Around Halloween there are random pictures of babies in the slow cooker along with "How's this for a little treat?" Or "My ikkle pumpkin" then all the way up to Christmas with "I found this little pudding in my pot! Shall I eat her up?!" Then all the pleas to stop with the baby in the pot pics start up. Then the defiant "but it was in a slow cooker wah wah wah..." I love that group. The custard pudding thing was fucking nasty though. Like sweet scramby eggs. Bluergh!

I made a Betty Crocker cake mix using fanta instead of eggs once - was foul and tasted very chemically but was highly appreciated by my son who is allergic to milk, eggs and nuts. Not in a slow cooker mind!
