Spent lots of time and money cooking them a lovely easter roast dinner today.

Brother turned up so hungover he didn't even speak to me, left early and only said thanks after I reminded him about manners- he is 24 ffs.

Sister was ok till after the meal where she was so bloody snappy and nasty to me that I lost my patience and asked her to leave (she has been like this with me for weeks and today was just the limit)

Mum stuck up for my sister and walked out with barely a word.

The only person who was actually nice was my dad. Honestly

I don't expect a fanfare but basic manners and speaking to me pleasantly would have been appreciated.

Hmm....someone else's turn to cook next time maybe?

They sound very ungrateful. Put your feet up.and watch some tv.

Oh dear

I suppose you shouldn't have sent your sister home with a flea in her ear but totally understand the temptation to.

Ah well, no need to repeat the performance in future, do your own thang and fuck 'em, yes?

Yanbu

My BIL turned up late to Christmas dinner (we'd all eaten) then swore at me (the host who'd cooked for 8 hours) really aggressively when we played a family game. And he's mid 30's. He left after an hour not even saying thanks.

Told Dh he would never be round again for food ive cooked.

Feel a little better after a rant.

No, I don't suppose I should have asked my sister to leave, but she has been awful to me the past few weeks, despite the fact I do an awful lot for her. She did the same to me yesterday when we got back from a day out I treated her to, I normally keep my mouth shut but maybe I was already on edge because of my brother.

I always say I wont do it again then end up giving in.

I've had my parents for dinner.

I made dad, dh & kids spicy chicken starters, mum had melon/fruit (like me as she doesn't eat spicy food)

When they came, she ate half of dad's & declared she LOVED spicy food!

Yes, first world problem but it niggled (albeit slightly) at the time Hmm

Crack open the wine and celebrate the thought of next year with your lovely Ddad and DH Smile

Grin Troopers, don't drink and I am single.

Cup of rasperry tea and half an easter egg plus a day off tomorrow, so I'm looking on the bright side
