my own mother has said i look like someone off towie, disown her right?

Lovely day today with family, but my mother said that fearne McCann from towie looks just like me!

I was mortified! She's someone that looks pretty rough, makeup caked on and a nose with warts.she also has a horrible manly voice and is a particularly unpleasant person.

Aibu to think its just something you don't say to someone

Having said that, it IS annoying when someone likens you to a person who you don't particularly want to look like; it's happened to me before.

I was going to say that the apple didn't fall far from the tree in terms of being insulting.

However, I have looked up this Fearne and she's lovely looking. So, perhaps your Mum didn't mean it as an insult.

If she did, then my first statement stands. And I would throw in delusional. (Yes, I get the irony.)

To me she looks very pretty. I wouldn't mind being compared to her.

On the upside, clicking that link has finally informed me that Joey Essex was actually christened Joey Essex! I always assumed it was short for Joey-off-of-TOWIE, or he'd changed it like Joey Ramones.

She looks perfectly normal, on the plus side of beauty and has a good figure. I know nothing about her.
Is she a shallow, unkind, obsessed with appearances and judgemental person?
How horrible to have to fend off those sorts of comments on a daily basis if her only crime is being a reality star.

Ferne McCann is very good looking as are a lot of the TOWIE people. I don't understand the hatred. As good looking as Ferne - you wish!!

It's interesting...on that link with the bare TOWIE faces versus the made up faces (and I do not believe those faces are 'bare') they almost all look nicer without the crazy make up. As in, they look like nicer people.

I like Fearne too. People don't like her because she's pushy and opinionated and then there's the imperfect nose. Not the perfect compliant woman is she? She doesn't care who she offends when defending herself and takes no crap. Far worse people to be compared to.

Eek I can't believe I said that. I was talking more about her personality tbh, she's got a horrible potty mouth and is always picking fights with everyone she can. The photos of her you are looking up are probably airbrushed and after hours of makeup!

The link that was posted that I assume everyone is looking at shows fearne completely make up free.

I think she is a very pretty girl, with and without make up.

I actually quite like her too, she is refreshingly honest and makes me laugh. She can be a bitch, but can't we all??

It also depends on What you actually look like. Do you have similar colouring? Are you as slim as she is? Long hair? Similar age?

YABU to describe someone as a rough bitch - not very nice really.

I wd think your mum was paying you a compliment or making a neutral observation - but only you know that.

I was once told (when I was about 22) that I looked like super nanny. To be honest I was pretty offended at that, but only because I knew her as quite stern and hard looking and obviously a fair bit older than me!

I don't think there is anybody on towie or any of the reality type programmes that if I was told I looked like them, I would be offended. Let's face it, their looks were certainly taken into account when casting them!

Gosh, OP- I just googled her, she's lovely looking! Saw a photo where she was channelling Barbara Streisand- both really stunning. I'd love to look like that!
