To have not moved out of this woman's way?

On the school run this morning with my 6 year old DS, which involves walking on a path alongside a busy main road, there was a woman standing in the middle of the path with an absolutely gigantic pram, holding her phone up and texting,

I went single file with DS, but there still wasn't enough room for us to pass her so I said "Excuse me please". The woman made a huge huffing noise combined with an eye roll, and then a huge drama of moving her pram into one side so we could pass. I thanked her and as we walked past her she said under her breath "you could have easily just walked in the road for a second".

I decided not to let it go, turned back round to her and said that that was a rude thing to say and that she was actually in the wrong for hogging the whole pavement.

WIBU not to walk on the busy road? I don't think I was but clearly the spoilt madam woman thought that I was....

I think this is an obvious no, you're not BU...I'd have decked her.

WorraLiberty · 02/04/2015 23:20

Nah, but I wouldn't give it any more head space.

Some people are rude.

Ywnbu.

Good for you for telling her. Selfish article!

ElevenTwelve · 02/04/2015 23:20

I think she sums up really the attitude of people that think the whole sodding world revolves around them.

It's not you, it's her.

glorymorning · 03/04/2015 00:02

Did she say anything else after that?

ElevenTwelve · 03/04/2015 00:06

No she just glared at me as though I was a terribly annoying, awkward nasty person and then stormed off.

She's a moron! Why the hell should you make a young child walk in a road because she didn't want to move.

I'd have said to her your baby will be the age of my son one day would you honestly want your child to walk in the road because someone didn't want to move whilst stood on the pavement!

Some people are just rude though and it's not just those with prams. On the bus yesterday, two old ladies had taken up all the pram area with their shopping. When a lady with a double buggy got on, they made a right fuss saying she should take out her babies and fold up the pram. Her partner quite rightly told them that they needed to move their shopping, which was only a wheely shopping trolley each. They moaned and grumbled for ages!

YANBU, well done for saying something & maybe, just maybe, she may be a bit more considerate in future (one lives in hope...).
