DS is about 20 mins walk away and has just and has just texted to ask for a lift home because he needs the loo.

I told him to run. AIBU?

Well personally I have ibs and get diarrhea around my time of the month and can be fine one minute then get terrible stomach cramps like something out of a film when someone's been spiked with laxatives. It only takes to eat or drink the wrong thing and it sets my off. I just hope for the best that it doesn't happen but I've had cinema trips ruined by needing the toilet in the middle of the film and have had to go in some pretty grim toilets.

I've never shit myself but I've been lucky it hasn't happened anywhere where there hasn't been a toilet.

I suppose I have sympathy for someone even with normal bowel function.

My 6 year old drives me insane though, I ask him to try for a poo in the morning, he's adamant that he doesn't need one, then on our way out the door or once out he needs a poo.

Couldn't he have gone to Paul's? Grin

BertieBotts · 02/04/2015 17:44

Christ if mine texted me to say he needed a poo I'd be tempted to say "Can't you do it there?" Little stinker Grin

Fenella, I can hold it for hours, days, which is silly but has happened.

BUT.... you sound like you have a medical condition, you can't eat.. because if you do you will be shitting yourself within 20 minutes....?

If I've read that right I suggest you see the docs, someone somewhere ain't right! :/

CoffeeAndBiscuitsPlease · 02/04/2015 18:22

something*

FenellaFellorick · 02/04/2015 18:25

Yes, if I am out and there's no loo, I can't eat.

And Miss Oversharer does it again. Namechanging time soon I think Grin

CoffeeAndBiscuitsPlease · 02/04/2015 18:27

I really think you should see a doctor... Food is supposed to take around 5 to 8 hours to digest, despite the fact you should have some control down there. How after 20 mins the food has already got into your colon is mad.

Unless you have already been diagnosed with something. Then I'll shut my mouth.

LynetteScavo · 02/04/2015 18:33

I think eating promotes the bowl to start moving...surely it can be the same flooding coming out immediately!

That sounds like IBS Fenella. I used to be a bit like that till I gave up smoking

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 02/04/2015 18:34

I have very similar Fenella and have IBS. If I've got to go I've got to go!

Pyjamaramadrama · 02/04/2015 19:49

Coffeeandbiscuits I think that the point is that the good hasn't been digested hence the diarrhoea . I can eat and it can go straight through me so to speak.

Although it doesn't happen all the time, and I do have bowel control.

I couldn't hold for hours though that seems another extreme.

PigletJohn · 02/04/2015 20:12

I can't see an answer to the question "how old is he"

Have I missed it?

EveBoswell · 02/04/2015 20:29

I've been taking a pain killer (Tramadol aka Zydol) and it stops bowel movements. Instead of going every day - sometimes more than once a day - I now go every few days and have to spend half an hour to produce anything even though I know it wants to emerge. Yes, the tablets cause constipation but it's either tolerate the pain or go frequently. Yes, it can be a boon if I'm out anywhere because I know that I don't have to worry about it.

Depends if you're the one who's got to wash his skiddy pants later I s'pose.

Skidoodoo · 02/04/2015 20:35

Do you own the only toilet for miles around or something? Why can't he use a different toilet?
