to think that a sling designed to hold a baby bottle is just plain lazy?

I saw an advert on fb last night for a material sling which attaches around the handle on a car seat, and holds a bottle of milk so the baby can feed him/herself.

Surely it's not too much trouble to actually stop, get your baby out and feed him/her yourself? Also, wouldn't it be a choking hazzard? Confused

It's a pretty good idea if you have twins or triplets though. That's how its advertised.

dexter73 · 30/03/2015 14:18

I don't think it is for use in a car as it says that you are not supposed to use it in a moving vehicle. As IhateStampysVoice says, it is for feeding multiple babies at the same time, probably at home.

MokunMokun · 30/03/2015 14:19

It's a good idea for when you're driving too.

MokunMokun · 30/03/2015 14:20

Or not a good idea for when you're driving then...

SlinkyB · 30/03/2015 14:38

Ah, it didn't mention twins/triplets on fb, but have just looked at the link and you're right. I just imagined lazy arses with singletons shoving a bottle in because they couldn't be bothered to stop what they were doing (not necessarily driving; could be shopping or whatever) and actually feed and bond with their child.

The amount of people I see with a tiny baby in a travel system with a bottle propped up on a muslin, whilst the parent strolls around a clothes shop is a bit Hmm in my judgy eyes! This would be ideal for them.

Meh. People are allowed be lazy from time to time.

squoosh · 30/03/2015 14:41

You're right though, you do seem very judgy.

LittleBairn · 30/03/2015 14:46

The baby in that photo looks like she is holding it by herself so it looks a bit pointless. Most people with multiples quickly learn to prop the bottle on a tea towel when they are in a bouncer. Or develope rather flexible wrists.

vestandknickers · 30/03/2015 14:52

I have twins and would have loved this when they were tiny.

MonoNoAware · 30/03/2015 14:53

Well I imagine it could be very lazy but, seriously, when you've been woken 3 times that night, washed 2 loads of dirty baby laundry and changed umpteen dirty bums, I think you're entitled to the odd lazy moment.

I lovingly held DS's bottle for each feed, but cracked bfing with DD and spent each hands-free feed happily drinking (lukewarm) tea and reading my book.

Woahbodyforrrrm · 30/03/2015 14:56

When my twins were born, I was given this by a friend who had triplets. Sometimes rather then 'laziness' you simply don't have enough hands Grin

Woahbodyforrrrm · 30/03/2015 14:56

To be fair, I favoured the rolled up blanket method.

SlinkyB · 30/03/2015 15:21

Looks like they are a good invention after all then; especially for people with multiples. And I totally get that now and then parents don't have enough hands/time to do everything.

Yeah, clearly I'm in a crap mood today squoosh, but I'll remove the j-pants right now and chill the hell out Grin
