15 yo ds wants to sleep at girls house

Not a bf/gf thing (though they were once) , a few others are staying too.
I've said no, mainly on the grounds he had a friend over to watch wrestling last night so hasn't had much sleep, and goes on holiday tomorrow.
My 17 yo told me I was so out of order.
I don't think so. sleep deprivation aside, I'm not overly comfortable with it.

What are you uncomfortable about? Are you worried about sex/drinking/drugs?

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 30/03/2015 11:17

Yes, why are you uncomfortable?

operaha · 30/03/2015 11:17

funny you say that, none of those things. Just don't know her/parents etc - bit out of my remit, despite being aghast, dd 17 never asked to do these things. Maybe it's fine? Still think he needs to sleep tonight!

We have had mixed sleepovers when my dd was that age. Everything seemed ok. They ate pizzas, watched tv and stayed up until the early hours. I think at that age you are less likely to know any of the parents of their friends. Perhaps you could have them over to yours for a sleepover to see what it is like?

operaha · 30/03/2015 11:23

yeah to be honest if he hadn't dropped it on me today, after a night of hardly any sleep, the day before he goes on holiday I'd probably have thought twice.
He has form for leaving plans until the last minute, I shouldn't be surprised.
Maybe another time.

Ha ha! Yes exactly! Getting 30 minutes notice of something is thought of as 'planning in advance'!!

Think in this instance you made the right call as they are as vile as toddlers when tired. Grin

However generally mixed sleepovers are what seems to happen now and personally I like them to have friends of the opposite sex. It's healthy.
