Amazing Indian takeaway for dinner tonight, really good. Except for the usual freebie: limp salad in a tightly knotted freezer bag. Why???

Anyone who rejects cucumbery lemon instead of seeing it as a perfect opportunity to have a sly spring time Pimm's doesn't deserve limp curry salad!

It's a lovely pallet cleanser. Reminds me of fresh coleslaw if you've ever had it?

I eat it. I add some more tomato and cucumber with the raita sauce or whatever it's called. It's fresh and nothing wrong with it. It's lovely with curry and rice.

Throw it over this way.

ME, I eat it. Squeeze the lemon over the lettuce and an onion bahjee, dip on the minty sauce stuff and yum. Nice crunch. Leave the raw onion and soggy tomato though.

I like it.

It really depends on the quality of the salad. If it's a nicely shredded and crispy mix of lettuce and white cabbage and finely sliced onion it is nice with a starter of tandoori or tikka. If it's a poorly executed afterthought of two roughly hacked iceberg lettuce leaves with a chunky wodge of cucumber and a couple of bits of rock hard flavourless tomato, then no. Straight in the bin.

We love the marinated onion salad with mint that comes with poppadoms and we always ask for extra as there's never enough of it for us. I hate it when the onions are not properly shredded though and they lazily give you great chunks of raw onion that haven't been mixed with anything.

I'm going to try it next time. I am, I am, I am. I'll report back.
