I really want to tell the world but it'd be terribly unprofessional so I'll do it anonymously because that is obviously fine.

I texted a male colleague (actually I sort of manage him) earlier about a work thing. I got a reasonable and measured response.

Then I received another text from him referring to his "burning hunk of love".

The worst thing is that when I got it, I immediately showed it to my DH whose INSTANT reaction was "well it was obviously meant for someone else". I am taking a little bit of offence at that actually. The colleague did then text with a grovelling apology because it was actually meant for his wife. I am tempted to torment him about this for some time but that would be wrong wouldn't it? Wouldn't it?

I was going to say what Werewolf just did.

Grin Easily done.

On a slightly more serious note, I would suggest to be cautious taking the piss in the workplace about it. He made an innocent mistake and it wouldn't be fair really to humiliate him further, especially as you are his superior at work. I wouldn't even mention it actually unless he does.

ChampagneTastes · 27/03/2015 22:42

Woollytights I really won't, honestly. It would just be mean apart from anything else and he is a nice chap. But I am allowing myself this little indulgence because... well it IS quite funny.
