To think it's important to be out when the sun's shining

I generally think of this house as presentable, not immaculate, but OK. However today, everywhere I've looked there's been a job. Finger marks, streaky windows, dust, grubby walls, chipped paintwork, things that I don't notice when the light's not so good.

I have concluded that the only solution is to stay out until after dark on sunny days, otherwise I'm going to start wishing for overcast days. AIBU?

That's why they call it spring cleaning Wink

Totally agree, my house looks lovely until the sun shines in and it's all dust and streaks! I just shut the curtains and deny it ever happened Grin

My MIL has a cleaner and even her house isn't perfect.

Don't worry OP Grin a show-house isn't cosy.

Nah Eeek. Spring cleaning was to get rid of the soot once fires weren't being lit in the spring, so it's obsolete now, unless you're daft enough to have a trendy woodburner.

I've got a trendy woodburner Grin

It's v clean. It's the coke burners & open fired that get soot everwhere.

I have owned a flat/house since 1987 and have never yet cleaned a window. It helps that I have appalling eyesight!!
