Are we being too fussy?

We have had a decorator at home this week decorating the master bedroom.

There have been quite a few issues, one I wrote a thread about as he damaged the carpet but has managed to get the stain out thankfully. My partner wasn't best happy with the carpet incident so the decorator was very jumpy yesterday when he left that he wanted to ensure I was happy with the work. I said let us look in the morning but from what I could see in the afternoon light it looked fine.

This morning we have looked and under the wallpaper he gung yesterday afternoon are lots and lots of small granular lumps. As though there was debris in the paste or the wall hadn't been sanded well. The wallpaper was pretty expensive and has a reflective pattern. So close up these lumps are very visible, from a distance however it looks fine.

AIBU to complain or would you just chalk it up to experience and let it go? I just don't know if my expectations are too high.

If me then I'd let it go, it's not as if you or anyone else is going to stare closely at those lumps.

The carpet was one thing but this wouldn't bother me.

Just a thought. Does it just need drying out? Can you feel them when you touch them? You could ask him about them. If it was just in the area he hung yesterday it might be the paste. I am no expert but know how annoying it is when things are not right. However, when everything goes back will you notice it?

They feel like grit/small dtones under the surface of the paper. One bit feels like metal and has broken through the paper. It is really strange.

My partner has emailed him explaining the issue and suggesting he comes over to take a look as he is local. Just waiting on a response. It's just a real shame as feels avoidable but I think I can live with it as all these imperfections blend in after a while.

That's the thing. Can you live with it if the only other solution is for him to compensate you with more papar and re doing the job.

That's why you got a decorator in the first place because it's expensive paper and you want aprofessional finish. Hmmmm. It depends how far you want to go with it. You could take it to the small claims court.

A sister of a friend offered to stencil my bathroom aka rennie mackintosh fashion.

It started off so well. She rag rolled the walls a very light pink on silver grey....oh how I wish I'd left it there as poor old Charles rennie mackintosh would have turned in his grave at what happened next.

I'd chosen the very stylised rose. Pinky red for the rose, sage green for leaves and stem and black for the dots.

Omg...they were supposed to be in a line around the top of the wall ...well they were ..a very drunken line. I could have wept. She was such a sweet woman. Put her heart and soul into it too.

I lived with it for about 2 years before getting it all painted out.
