DD2 is 5 weeks. She's just woken up and had a feed. is it absolutely horrendous if I put her back to bed for an hour at this time? I know I should really get up for the day but I can't face it yet, I'm too tired.

Err no..! Get back to sleep you maniac!

Eminado · 20/03/2015 05:32

Omg put her back to bed if she will go down!

Why would you not?

In fact dont answer me - GO TO SLEEP!

WishUponAStar88 · 20/03/2015 05:34

If she'll go back to sleep she's not ready to get up ... get back to bed!

silverstreak · 20/03/2015 05:37

As above! :) although I have just decided Sod it I'll MN instead cos my 9wk old is restless but I have stuck him on a boob - hoping he'll send himself off again for a bit more quiet - & made a mental note to look at his sleep patterns to avoid this again after the fourth 5:30 in a row.... This is Not morning!! Hope you are asleep, or at least on the way..... ;)

Jackieharris · 20/03/2015 05:38

It's the middle of the night! Go back to bed. I count anything before 8am as a night feed.

PrettyLittleMitty · 20/03/2015 06:38

Without a doubt yes! If she will go back down that is?

confusedandemployed · 20/03/2015 06:40

Whaaa? Unless you're me (pathologically early riser), go back to sleep you madwoman!

Charitybelle · 20/03/2015 07:17

I hope you went back to bed?! My 4 month old had me up at 5 and wouldn't go back to sleep so I ended up walking round the neighbourhood with him in the pram! He eventually fell asleep but I was too wide awake by that point so spent the last hour watching crappy TV and drinking coffee whilst he sleeps! It will hit me later and I'll be shattered. If you can get an extra hour in bed you must take it, it's your duty to parents everywhere!

Sirzy · 20/03/2015 07:19

Enjoy your sleep!

Stinkersmum · 20/03/2015 07:33

At 5 weeks old, put them down whenever you want!!! Sleep is good - for both of you.

Eminybob · 20/03/2015 07:42

I don't understand, in any way shape or form why you would not think its ok to put her back down if she is happy to do so.

Donthate · 20/03/2015 07:46

Put her back to bed. It's not morning until 7 Wink

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 20/03/2015 07:49

I told my 2yo it was "still the middle of the night" at 7am last Saturday Smile Thank goodness for black out blinds...

Georgethesecond · 20/03/2015 07:50

Yup. Morning starts at seven.
Six when you hit that dreadful toddler early waking stage.

zebrapig · 20/03/2015 08:03

I've just done a feed and had my own breakfast and as far as I'm concerned this is still a perfectly reasonable time to go back to bed - which I'm about to do! 5am is the middle of the night in my book!

RavioliOnToast · 20/03/2015 09:17

I did it haha. I still feel like shit though. I'm trying to squeeze in a 30 day shred before dd1 gets up. And I have to get dd1 up at 7.30 latest to get her in a routine for nursery next month and so she has a dry bed! I just thought it a bit shit on DD2, she was full of smiles bless her. She still nodded off though Grin

IHeartKingThistle · 20/03/2015 14:09

You have a 5 week old baby. Move away from the shred.

Littleturkish · 20/03/2015 14:12

I was told no running until 3 months. Sleep more.

RavioliOnToast · 20/03/2015 18:15

I feel like if I don't start now I never will. I feel motivated and I've never felt like this before. I've been lucky to be back to previous pregnancy weight straight away and it took me so much to lose weight before I was pregnant. I'm still massive and have loads to lose though and I'm getting impatient and want it off!! Sad

Littleturkish · 20/03/2015 18:51

Check with your doc, I was told firmly no.

TheBookofRuth · 20/03/2015 18:53

Dear god, you maniac, give yourself a flipping break!

TwoOddSocks · 20/03/2015 19:05

If a little baby can sleep then let them sleep, every single time. AND sleep yourself!

chocolatescones · 20/03/2015 19:06

DD and I got up at 10am for the first 8 weeks, we tried everything but she'd never go down until 10pm so I just slept in as long as I could (and still try to now she's 12mo!)

Totality22 · 20/03/2015 19:10

5 week old baby + older child + 30day shred.

Now you are just showing off Grin

Seriously, give yourself a break. Start the exercise when you are getting a bit more sleep and baby is in a bot of a routine!

Totality22 · 20/03/2015 19:10

I obviously meant

  • bit of a routine
